Good morning all!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Please don't read any more if you're having coffee or breffis..

All 5 Ps in place and one extra P=pukus. I'm sorry to write about this first thing in the morning..but pukus is something we hardly ever deal with. Any insight on pukus and hairballs is appreciated.
1)I thought Oliver was moping around yesterday because he was missing his daddy. It seems he might have been moping around because he was feeling yucky. At pmps +5.5 he stood up in bed and looked at me, turned around and then threw up...a lot! pukus covered about 2.5ft x 2 ft. It was undigested ( or almost undigested food)
I tried to slide out calmly so as not to upset him more than he already was. He threw up again, just a little but a HUGE hairball. 3" long and as thick as my thumb. He hardly ever throws up and he almost never has a hairball. I can probably count them on one hand and he's 10. He was looking wide eyed. I gave him a tbl of his regular food at +5.75. He ate at , (tested+6=67) came back to new sheets on bed and went to sleep.
2)This morning, (pmps +11)I didn't pick up the little boys overnight food..14% FF. (bad mom). Oliver cleaned up Greg's dish..less than a tsp left.. tested immediately = 87. 15 min later, he threw up again.. a very small amount. It was brown watery, surrounded by clear liquid.
3) amps 114.. ate his regular breffis and so far, no more pukus.. it's amps +1 now.
Pukus once, ok, pukus with hairball, ok.... but i'm a little worried since he threw up such a large amount last night and he's thrown up 2x in the past 12 hours.

He's hanging out beside me as i write this. No meatloafing, stretched out, playing with my pens.

Ok, well, other than that - he seems ok.

Many prayers for all of us today. A special prayer and thoughts tonight for Pirate and beans. May your journey be easy and your new ship take you to wonderful adventures.

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist amps 114 - don't read at breakfast

Morning Mary, I've already had my hoomis breffifs! Not to worry, as I think Maggie's condos are much more graphic with the poo.
Poor Ollie, that's a lot of vomit. Do you ever use Pepcid AC for his tummy? I woudn't use it unless ok'ed by Vet. I think I'd call Ollie's Vet and let them know if it keeps up or you're very worried.
Sending tummy and keep food down vines for Ollie.

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist amps 114 - don't read at breakfast

I'm always amazed that it's Gabby that will puke up a hairball vs. Gizmo who is a longhair. Usually, Gabby is happy to go eat as if nothing happened. I wouldn't worry about the puking unless it continues today and then it's a vetty appt.

(It does sound like an impressive hairball. Yuck.)

Morning Mary ~O) ~O) ~O)

 oh wow, what a night what a day. amazes me too that they can hack up such a large amount. I suspect that that hairball really bothered him, and now that it's gone he's feeling rather good. Hopefully all that pukus was all hairball related. paws crossed. wow Oliver: rather impressive. Be well little one.

Have a good one today Mary. Elsa says she is on her way. ~O) :-D

Hi - I'm new to this board and was just trying to read a few posts to see what i need to include in mine. I'm glad your kitty is feeling better today! I did have a question - you wrote "no meatloafing" which I thought was hysterical, but I wanted to find out why you included that. If they are lying on the floor like a little meatloaf (or a big meatloaf in my kitty's case), is that considered good, bad or not important? I was just wondering. I used to have a kitty with a stomach problem and he would do the meatloaf and I think it was because his belly hurt. Just curious

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist amps 114 - don't read at breakfast

Hi Mary,

I used to have a kitty that threw up tightly wrapped hairballs. Looked like a red/tan poop from a distance. Felt hard when picked up. He (Leo GA) would sometimes continue with a bile/liquid pukus now and again for the next 24 hours. I think he may have been still irritated inside. It happened mostly during shedding seasons. Then it would stop, and not happen again for months. Not sure is this could be Olly's problem?

Hope Oliver stays feeling good! Have a great day :-D

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist amps 114 +2 99 +3 58 +3.5 55 thank you!

Big hugs and thanks Ann, Sienne, Michelle and Jane for helping me with the hairball, pukus issues. I really appreciate it. Will keep an eye on him today but hopefully, it's over and done. He seems to be ok so far this morning.
Hi Dara, I answered you in Bob's condo. I'm sure there will be much more information coming your way today!

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist amps 114 +2 99 - don't read at breakfas

Whoa, Ollie! I hope you're feeling better now that you got that pesky (and impressive) hairball outta your system!

Mary, I hope you guys have a good day. Hopefully the pukus events are in the past.

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist amps 114 +2 99 +3 58 +3.5 55 thank you!

you know hairballs don't go in like that, so it's amazing how large they can get when they come out! Buster loves to give giant logs, while Maui likes hers spread out in pieces!

Do you have a furminator? If not, get one or something like it, so you can really brush him well and get all the excess fur, before he ooops he did it again! I'm thinking a little Britney is called for today!

Hi Mary,

Impressive hairball Ollie, and look at those numbers, very handsome big guy. I hope the rest of the day was relaxed and uneventful.

Have a great evening,
Kathie

It looks like the hairball didn't affect Ollie's numbers today. I hope all the pukus was hairball related.

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist amps 114 +2 99 +3 58 +3.5 55 thank you!

Wow Look at those numbers today. Ollie must have felt pretty good, getting rid of that nasty hairball.

The first time Ollie upchucked, is what Tux does, to get rid of hairballs. He eats, then regurgitates the whole thing....usually in his food dish, but with the hairball. He always uses food to push the mass out.

Guess Ollie didn't get it all, the first time. I'm glad he feels better today.

He surely proved it with playing and giving you those great greens

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist pmps 109 all is calm - thanks

Thanks thanks thanks for hairball help. It's been a quiet day for the kitties. no more pukus! munching fuds, happy, napping kitties. I have a furminator, and will use it more often! I brush all three kitties every day and thought that was good enough. Shows how little i know.

On to the next event!!

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist pmps 109 all is calm - thanks

Hi guys,
I guess we can crown Ollie the "Hairball King for a Day". Wow, that was some hairball! Stu used to have hairballs all the time, but Rusty only rarely gets them. We give him a 1/2 teaspoon of NaturVet Hairball gel remedy every day as a treat.

We are happy that all is calm this evening. Enjoy a fine evening,

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I'm glad that there was no more pukus today! Tess seldom gets hairballs, either, but she gets brushed every day w/ a Kong Zoom Groom. It really seems to get the undercoat loos and she thinks it is a wonderful massage!

Re: 6/26 OliverTwist pmps 109 +2 141

Hi Mary. Hope Oliver's hair ball episodes are all over so he can get down to those nice green Oliver numbers.

Have a great night Mary.
