Morning ~O) I'm a little late today. I went to the recycling and trash dumpsters and ran into my neighbor with her little service dog, so I took a short walk with them. Whew, hot already and will reach 88 inland!!

What an ordeal yesterday with Mags spending the day at the Vet getting an enema. They got her all cleaned out, X-ray confirming, and this time it was all soft, diarrhea like poo and lots of it. It must have been very painful for Mags, as she cried and hissed at them. This really surprised them and me, too, as it's not her personality. The last enema was in March and went well. They tried but couldn't give her a bath or sani-cut as she was too stressed. Her Vet Tech just cleaned her up as best possible under the circumstance and did a great job with her sensitivity to Mags. I think Mags was stressed before I got her to the Vet with me cleaning up a little loose poo.
The 357 PMPS was all stress. She settled down right away when I got her home. I was an hour late with her shot, so I'll slowly get her back on track.

With everything going on last evening I accidentally left my Lantus vial on the counter all night, starting at 4 pm yesterday. My vial is five and a half months old, so I'm due for a new one. As you can see by her +3, the juice is still potent. My VPI pet insurance just renewed, I think, as I've used up all my diabetes, renal and constipation allotments. I have to buy a box of strips today at Walmart to tie me over until I place an ADW order, yoy!!

Thank you all for the prezzie vines and support yesterday. It really meant a lot.
Healng vines to all kitties needing them.

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67

Nice greens Maggie. Looks like the juice is still good. I can not believe you get that much life out of a vial. When we used vials, the most I could get was maybe 60 days if I pushed it.

So sorry to hear that Mags had a hard time at the vet yesterday. Poor girl. It had to be uncomfortable. At least she is home and all empty now. :-D Have a wonderful day Ann!

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84

...And we are back to Maggie numbers! I hope she's totally forgotten about yesterday. Have a great day, Ann!

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84

Good morning, Ann!
Based on her numbers today (splash!) I bet yesterday's ordeal is looong gone in her mind. Did Mags get bloodwork done, too?
Ahhh, pet insurance... I'm signing up next time, for sure.

I hope you guys have a wonderful day!

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84

That's the Maggie we know! And she is surfing! That is a long time for a vial to last! Good luck w/ the insurance, I didn't know about it until Tess already had preexixting conditions. And Emma, she came w/ them!

Not looking forward to the weekend here either, H-O-T!!! I think Emma will have to stay in . She will not be a happy kitteh!

Odd that it was soft poo that was stuck, does she have motility issues as well?

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84

Hi and thanks for the visits. I ran out to Walmart to get one box of Relion Confirm strips until I can place an order with ADW. It is hot. I wanted to also run to the grocery store, but one of my panel lights keeps flashing. It's the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Check Engine). I looked it up in my car's manual. Anyone have any idea? it said check gas cap to see if loose. I did that and still light comes on and off. One other time all it needed was water in the radiator. I just spent a small fortune on repairs not that long ago! Yoy!

Melissa, yes, she's all cleaned out but completely exhausted today. She doesn't seem quite herself. I'm hoping it's just the ordeal.

Josie, yes Mags had b/w and Vet said he would call today. He usually waits until the last appt is over before calling. I could call and get a copy, but I'm a little nervous about her renal values.
I know it's the whole cat thing but......

Ann, yes, Mags does have motility issues. She takes the Cisapride to help the colon muscles contract, all a part of the Megacolon disease. I was really surprised it all all soft and diarrhea like, and so were the Vet Techs caring for her. I expected it to be the hard pellets. I'm going to browse around on Health and Yahoo MB (if I can get on Yahoo). I forgot my p/w and kept asking for a new one, but there's some hiccup why I can't get it or log on.

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84

Hi Ann

Aside from being exhausted, Maggie must be feeling pretty good, being all cleaned out.
My DD's cat had motility issues, and acupuncture helped immensely. I don't remember what Stevie's condition was, tho.
She was able to have a bm, and was as spry as a kitten afterward. I'm pretty sure it wasn't megacolon, but her "pushing" muscles didn't work properly.
Helpful, wasn't that?

Sending good 'renal value' vines to Miss Mags

Hey Barb, that's a thought. She would probably be ok with acupuncture, as it's very relaxing, at least for humans it is I've found. Might help her spine, too.

PMPS 80
Very unusual for Mags. I wonder if my five and a half month old vial is doing the opposite. Mags is eating although not as much as usual. She did have fluids about three hours earlier.

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84; +11 112; PMPS 80

Wow....what a PMPS. Maggie could very well still be recovering from yesterday...it sounded like it was a tough one for her.

If your gas cap is causing the check engine light issue, I believe a mechanic has to reset the light (or whatever it is that triggers the light) once the gas cap is tightened. The unfortunate thing about the check engine light is that it is very vague....

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84; +11 112; PMPS 80

Poor Mags, what an ordeal she had. I hope she is feeling more like normal soon. Sending good renal value vines, I hope all is normal.

Have a good night,
Kathie

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84; +11 112; PMPS 80

Thanks Amy, I think Mags is still recovering from yesterday with not eating as much and sleeping a lot. I hope tomorrow she'll feel more like herself. Less food equals lower numbers. She's only on three drops.

Thanks on that engine light thing. I called my repair shop and they are going to take a look and scan it. You're smart there with the diagnostics as they said the same thing. I have a doctor's appt. Monday that is quite a hike, so thought I'd better have it checked out.

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84; +11 112; PMPS 80

I hope Maggie gets to feeling like her normal self soon and the b/w results are good.

Re: 6/26 Maggie AMPS 186; +3 67; +4 84; +11 112; PMPS 80

Paws crossed for the BW results, and I hope that the light just needs to be reset!

Re: 6/26 Maggie PMPS 80; +2 82

+2 82
This is good as at least Mags is not dropping! She's eating enough to keep her numbers up. I guess I could give some FF T&G as a nightcap.

Thanks Kathie, Carla and Ann & Tess for the visits and well wishes for Mags. I hope so, too, on the panel light that it's a small maintenance thing.

Re: 6/26 Maggie PMPS 80; +2 82

Hi Ann,
I missed your condo yesterday and am sorry that Mags had to have an ordeal at the vettybean's. But it sounds like she is doing very well today. Amazing that your insulin is still good in all that heat after being left out of the 'fridge!

I hope your mechanic and fix the problem with the light.

Thanks for visiting us.

Maggie, keep feeling good!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. We put toothpaste on bites. It works pretty well. I also use WitchHazel.

Re: 6/26 Maggie PMPS 80; +2 82

Thanks Ella, I'm also surprised the vial is still good. I'll keep using it up til the 6 months unless she starts getting wonky numbers. Mags seems awfully sleepy today, but the ordeal yesterday and she's a cat and that's what they do.
I hope that's it.

Re: 6/26 Maggie PMPS 80; +2 82

Hi Ann. Maggie had a great day and it looks like she is starting the evening off nicely as well. Glad everything went well at the vet yesterday.

Have a great evening.

Re: 6/26 Maggie PMPS 80; +2 82

Detective Poo checking on the Mags. I'm sorry yesterday was such a hard day. Wow on those greens. She could also be sleeping a little more today just because it's hot. Paws crossed for the BW.
Liz
ETA: Zener said to tell Mags thanks for the special treatment after his vetty visit today. He won't say a word to Vyktor. :-D
