Have a great day everyone
The cat sitting is going ok, but the cat who needs a pill is totally terrified and to stressed to pill, he’s got me several times and now he won’t even come out when I’m here, I’ve been here since 4:30 yesterday afternoon and I’ve seen him 1x, I’m at a loss on how to pill him, he won’t eat anything but dry food and there’s another cat in the house, I did try cheese and he ate all,but the one with the pill:banghead: never in my life have I not been able to do this, he is a very mean cat, I’ve watched 42 cats at once for a friend of mine who is a rescuer and gave all types of meds, fluids and shot never a problem

Ollie is waiting for Bella on the beach so they can swim together.

In that meanie cat. Can you crush pill or put in tiny bit of food and leave the bowl where he is, maybe when you leave the room for awhile he will come out and eat it.

Hes on his way
I can try

Sorry about your cat sitting experience, it is so stressful when you have a problem doing something for someone else.
Glad to see that Bella is doing wonderful.
Hope your day gets better:bighug::bighug:

I had that problem once also; I put the pill in just a little paté for human, made a little ball and rolled it to the cat and left the room; he ate it! I suppose pill pockets are not working either! Hope you succeed with the pill and have a better day today!

I've tried cheese and some wet food chunk

Well, that makes sense. 42 is the answer to the meaning of life, the universe, and everything!

(This cat you are trying to pill reminds me of one of my ginger boys. He has been running away from me since I put a seresto collar on his buddy the other day!!!! And he isn’t even getting one himself!)

This cat totally needs to be on the show My cat from hell lol

Good luck with "The Wild One" that you have to pill. That type of adventure does not sound like fun. Too bad the medicine is not injectable.

Bella needs to stay away from those sharks!
I just dont know the answer, I cant even get close to him enough to give a shot, I need a dart blower with the meds on it lol

I had a similar experience, got clawed, bitten and hissed at while trying to give a pill. I went and got pill pockets and the little rascal adored them. I started giving them to him as a treat and by the end of day 4 he was on my lap waiting for his treat.:bighug:

Gonna stop and get some on my way today
Thanks

I sympathize with you trying to give meds. My Alice has a new trick. I hold her mouth open, drop in a tiny pill & quickly squirt a bit of baby food in. She will not swallow! Drives me CRAZY!
I've sat there holding her mouth shut for several mins Rubbing her throat, her nose anything I can think of. She doesn't fight me, just sits there. When I finally let go it all just dribbles out! Now she must have told Ravan & Peggy Sue about her new trick They have both started doing it too! :banghead:

GOOD Luck! (I'm considering your idea about the dart with a blow gun! Knowing me I'd inhale it :woot::woot::woot:)

Lol that would be me too
Thing is I cant even get near him anymore hes associates me with that pill

Does your friend have a problem giving meds to this cat? Is it something that can be skipped till she gets home?

I read this & decided not to give my cat Alice any meds. ( she's had Stomatitis for many years. I recently read that Zyrtec can sometimes put them into remission. But if she's going to fight me & hide, it's just too stressful for me & her!)
"If you’ve run out of all other options, you, and your cat might ultimately feel relief in the decision not to wage war over pills. Cats physically forced to take medication can sometimes become withdrawn, aggressive, and detached. For some cat owners, the trade off simply isn’t worth it."

She has to catch him at a good time and I cant stay.over there all the time

My CKD kitty is terrible to medicate or give subq to. I tried many times. I figure she isn't sick enough for anything she needs.

Should of seen her with the ear drops I got a little while ago. You think I was killing her.

Try a couple without the pill. Sorry they worked for me when looking after a friends cat. He loved them, even more than his treats.:bighug:
