Thanks to all the folks who weighed in on my situation. I'm going to look for some zero carb foods. I think it was Jay Dee and Snuggie who gave me an extensive list on the Weruva (3 with 0 carbs) and Tiki Cat foods (all with 0 carbs) and I have the Nutritional Composition list to follow too. If anyone has a favorite please let me know. Also, has anyone ever read that foods with no carbs ever cause problems for cats?

I know I am not supposed to do fats and skinnys unless I am on a lower dose but I think I am going to try to do a fat 2.5 for Susie starting tonight. If 2.5 units is 3.13 on my calipers and 2.75 is 3.43 then I will shoot for 3.28 mm on the calipers.

Morning Summer , sorry I can't help you out with the food question, wanted to wish you luck with the food experiment and the fat dose. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hi, Diane. I appreciate you thinking of me. Hoping to see our friend, Pamela, back on FDMB today. How is Tyler doing these days? Do you have anything special that you like to feed him?

Hey Summer I hope to see her back here today too, Tyler is doing good, all he eats is FF pates , never had a treat in his life,
To him a treat is eating tissues lol which I can't keep out , have to keep them in a cabinet, same with toilet paper, why in the world would a cat love to eat these , they have no taste.

Cats can be pretty bizarre. Susie likes to eat my Mom's fake plants and then she throws up. Paper is weird too. Who knows what goes through our kitties brains . Wendy suggested a no carb food and supposedly the FF Ocean Whitefish is 0 carbs. FF pates are all I am feeding Susie too - unless she needs a m/c or h/c food. Have a great day.

Susie is heading down today. You may not want to make a dose adjustment tonight if she keeps going down. You may want to wait until tomorrow so you can sleep tonight. On the zero carb food, you may want to just buy a little to test it out. Some cats have higher numbers on zero carb because they need at least a small amount of carbs. It's one of those ECID things.

Okay, I'll hold off until tomorrow morning to do the fat 2.5. She is not heading down much. I have always wondered if cats should have some carbs. Interesting that some cats get higher numbers on 0 carbs. Susie has had the ocean whitefish this morning and it is supposed to be 0 carbs. Still, she did better yesterday. My goal today is to feed the rest of her morning food by +5 to see if it helps bring down those higher afternoon numbers. Thanks for the advice!

It looks like this is a bounce clearing cycle. See where she lands tonight. I think it’s fine to try fat and skinny dose changes at this point.

Good Morning Summer! I see Susie numbers are going good so far today. Surf safely Susie and enjoy your day
Good morning, Molly. Susie loved the pawty last night! It was her first. Thanks for playing "Strawberry Fields Forever". It is a little morose but fitting for a Full Moon Pawty :cat:. Susie got to see her older sister, Mia, across the veil. She misses chasing her around the house. Have a great afternoon with Miss Molly!

Thanks, Elise. I'll see how this afternoon and evening go. Good to know I can try a fat 2.5. I don't know how else to make a small increase without going back to 2.75 which, honestly, was a little too worrisome for me. It was like "living on the edge" for a while.

That's cats for you. They do not like us trying to predict their cycles. I do think she is clearing a bounce, too. I'm curious to see where PMPS lands.
She is down to 92 and I'm wondering if I shouldn't give her some food now. This is a really late nadir. Will ask for advice. Thanks, Mandy.

Now I am wondering how to set my alarm to test tonight. I always get the +2 and have been getting the +6 but if she is nadiring this late, today, should I switch the +6 test to +8 and see where she is? Should I get the +2, a +6 and a +9?

Mr Kitty did this to me a few times, it's a little nerve-wracking.

I would not feed. She's still perfectly safe, I'd just test at +11 and see. You may end up shooting nadir, it'll be a little hard to tell.

It's bit of a gamble. This could be a one-off late nadir cycle and tonight she goes closer to normal. Or it may last a little while. With Mr Kitty, his following cycle was also usually pushed back, then the next day closer to normal. ECID?

She was 125 at PMPS which is good. She came up. Now I am wondering when, tonight, to set my alarm to test. Of course, I will get the +2 but should I also set the alarm for +4 (her normal nadir time) or + 9, her new nadir time or both. Maybe a +2, a +6 and a +8????? Gosh, I hope I get some sleep tonight. Good thing is that she never dropped too low. If this had been the 2.75 units I think I would have a lot more to worry about. No increase for her tomorrow. Thanks, Melissa, for helping me out tonight.

With meter variance it looks to me like she was pretty flat.
146 @+2. She is coming up. Do I have something to worry about tonight with her being flat? I always read that could be a sign of an active cycle. I have set my alarm for +6 and will see where she is. I'll also try to get a test in around +8 or +9 after today's nadir. Does this sound okay, Elise? Thanks for your help. This cat confounds me.

Hmm unfortunately I'm not sure what to say. Her +3 has been a pretty reliable predictor. I'd say if that's flat or higher one nighttime test around +6/7? If it's lower, it depends. +5 maybe and go from there?

Regardless, I'd probably grab a +10 if you can.

Thanks so much, Melissa. I have my clock set for +5 right now and will take it from there. I'm always a little brain dead in the middle of the night but will do my best to get a +9 or +10. Luckily, I can't go through the entire night without having to go to the bathroom and, unfortunately, that is usually a couple hours before I have to get up anyway. Good night and thanks, again.
