Hubby decided to pop home and test Simon. When he saw the 54, he immediately opened the can with the gravy and let him chow down (no teaspoon, he was panicked) and then he called me at work. I told him to immediately test him again and it had been 20 mins in between tests with the food in between and he was up to 94. I shot home and just retested him and he is at 132.
Lesson? Don't go an entire day without testing him now. He is doing weird things with his dose. Staying high, going low and so now I am thinking I should probably reduce to 2.5 and see how that goes?

Probably a good idea to go back down if you aren't around. Were you going to be home for a few days sometime soon? If so, that would be a great time to push the envelope a little, maybe go back up and steer the numbers with food. He is so sensitive with food that your 50s are certainly manageable.

I am giving Simon only 2 units tonight as last time he had a low PMPS (203) I got nervous with all of the green. This time, since he was low all day today it seems, I am being conservative and going down to 2 units to make sure. Better too high for a day than too low for a minute as they say around here! Even 2 units make me nervous tonight for some reason but going lower won't work most likely so here we go!

As the numbers decrease the dose should decrease also. Good job.

+5 is 148 so made the right call. He is coming down on less insulin :smile:
