:banghead::banghead::banghead::arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh: he bit me while I was trying to give insulin. I just hope something went in. He has been extra ornery and feisty last couple days but he has never ever bit me. It wasnt a super hard it was a warning bite but it still hurt and had syringe in hand and in him so hopefully something went in.

This is getting ridiculous. I feel so inept these days. I've been doing this plenty long enough I shouldnt be having these issues especially so often. :(

Part of me thinks he is just tired of being messed with right now. He feels better cause his overall numbers are so much better. Not that I'll oblige he needs me to do this and that's just it. But I have to figure out how to make sure I'm calm and cool so we dont have the fur shots. He has quite a bit of fur too so I have to move some out of the way as I'm holding up the bit of skin. Its definitely a two handed job and maybe three lol

It's possible I hit a nerve as I put needle in too. His back rippled a bit like he felt it.

Do you think it would be easier to shoot while he is eating and distracted?
I've done that a few times. Generally it works but he is slightly moving target at that point. So fur shot is possible. At this point I guess it's possible regardless of what I do.

One thing I hadnt really thought of. We have kept a closer reign on cats and had them in our bedroom most of time lately since mil has been home and has been sick. We didnt want them to accidentally come in contact and spread it around. Or come in contact with all the bleach we've been using to clean. Let them out today we closed her bathroom and bedroom door. She is doing a lot better and probably no longer contagious. This could've been a factor in his restlessness and grouchiness

Good grief. He doesn't even take a fur shot like a normal cat! I guess something got in. I know know know I smelled the insulin though! I mean I know depot somewhat in play here but this is an extreme drop for a +3!

I didnt test him at +2 thinking ok fur shot he is grouchy I'll give him a break test and +3 and that's probably it. Good thing I can get a +5 before work today I guess

i got a scream the other day. I began doing flank shots, and they were going SO well, Ares didn't even notice when i shot him. skip a couple days, and im not doing them right...he yelped at me and was VERY upset. i have since went back to scruff. I must have hurt my baby and im not ready to go back to it. Wish there were some REALLY good vids on flank shots. Also my last FS amd my mossed this morning... im was feeling a bit like a bad mom. But better now. Thanks for ur support Rainbow. we are all just trying to do our BEST!:bighug::bighug:

Mause has gotten quite done with this party too as she feels better, and while she's not long hair she has a double coat that's quite fuzzy underneath. I found that if I wet my hand slightly it helps to part the fur and keep it parted. I also hold the needle in my teeth (covered business end) so I can have two hands on the cat till I'm ready to shoot

The wet hand is excellent I will try that tonight! He has medium fur and a double coat he is like a polar bear LOL

Ok expected tonight as well. He had a huge drop...hopefully he wont drop too much too fast tonight.

Typically it seems a fur shot affects 2 and 3 cycles after. If he did indeed get one he may run a little higher tonight and tomorrow

Sometimes you don't realize just how poorly they're feeling til they turn the corner and then it's like...man I'm so glad you feel better but I miss the sluggishness and not getting swatted and nipped :joyful:

Nice recovery though!
Oh I know I'm so happy he feels better but he is kind of a butthead LOL

In general he is pretty easy going about testing and insulin. He is a straight up bully about food. And when he wants to play civvie is attacked and stalked.
