Happy Caturday ya'll!

All these lovely green numbers the few days and I wasn't paying attention. But they got my attention now. It's official, another major pancreatitis flare up has arrived. After yesterday's EVO feast, or more like a mid-day dry snack, Harley's appetite dwindled down to very little at PMPS and then nothing overnight. No vomiting, just anorexia, meatloafing, panting, moaning, chirping and a lot of hiding.

I started pushing the usual SubQ fluids, buprenex and Anzemet which thank Bast I always make sure I have on hand because we all know out kits get sick at night or on the weekend. It's like a natural law or something. I called my vet this AM and she wants me to up his prednisolone from 5mg daily to 10mg daily. I've also got Denamarin on hand, I just have to figure out how to get it into him. I know how to pill a cat and watched all the videos, and tried all the tricks that ya'll have sent me, but Harley's always been difficult to pill when he's feeling well and a holy terror when he's feeling sick.

So please forgive my absence as once again I go do battle with Mr. P. Oh, and on Monday, my civvie, Princess is having a dental and a biopsy to determine if a lump under one of her nipples is cancerous.

Laura's Nursing Home For Cats is open for business. Anybody care to join me and incorporate?

I don't know who to feel more sorry for - Harley or you!!

It was the food that did it, don't blame the green numbers! Maybe this will teach him not to go tearing through the cabinets again!

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear the news about Harley and your civvie.

Sending healing vibes your way.

Let us know how they're doing when you can...no pressure.

Thanks Vicky and Marcy for the sympathy and well wishes!

This is just a quick note that Princesss came through her mastectomy and dental OK. No tooth extractions (yeah!) but her incision on her tummy is twice the size that I thought it would be. They did a local mastectomy/biopsy. Poor girl is hurting for sure. I have buprenex for pain and have been bringing her food to her as her appetite is way down. Waiting on pins & needles for the pathology report.

Harley with with us to the vet yesterday since the weekend was really bad. He barely ate and I had a heck of a time syringe feeding him on Sunday. We did bloodwork and the spec fPL, I got an antibiotic, some cans of food I can syringe if needed, and my vet phoned prescriptions for more buprenex and ondansetron to a pharmacy as they had the best prices. I'm going to pick them up later today.

Laura, you can blender just about any canned food to get it through a large 60cc syringe. I use it for mixing raw food and canned, and it is my cat-food-only blender! Add a little water if the canned food is not watery. I use Merrick Turducken with the raw and sometimes there's little chunks which hang up the syringe, but not many. The Merrick is very watery so I don't add any water, but other canned food you might need to.

You took on quite a challenge with 2 sick kitties at once! Hopefully Princess will feel better soon and Harley will eat for you.

Laura, did you get the pathology report back yet for Princess? Hoping everything is fine and there is nothing further to worry about with her. Also hope she and Harley got their appetites back. Having one sick kitty is hard enough, but two!

I saw on your spreadsheet that you give both Ondansetron and Dolasetron? Just curious since I had not heard of giving them both since they are for the same thing, but we know Harley has a lot of challenging health issues. :( Poor Harley I hope he gets his appetite back soon.

(what is TOTW dry?)
