Hi guys. Sorry I didn't get on sooner. Boy what a day it's been today. Two trips to daycare a visit to the Pain Clinic with my son and Tori's vet visit. We're all played out at my house.

First of all thank you so much for being the wonderful people that you are. I don't have a clue what I would do without you and I never want to find out. Without your love and strength I would be a total basket case by now.

It was real strange. I didn't feel nervous about Tori's appointment at all today. Something just made me know that the Ultrasound would be OK and it was. Tori was such a good girl. she cooperated so well it was amazing. Doug took 4 needle aspirates from various nodes in her body and she didn't even bat an eye. The only thing she objected to was having her tummy shaved and I can't say I blame her. Doug said as far as he could tell everything looks normal and he felt no engorged nodes anywhere. Do you believe it?

So tomorrow we start the chemotherapy. It will be over 19 weeks. Tomorrow we start the Vincristine and the Prednisilone. I'll be dropping her off in the morning and picking her up later in the day. There is another drug that she will receive IV but that won't be started for a while. I'll get a write up of the schedule tomorrow.

We spoke about the radiation business again and Doug agrees that for Tori and her family it probably wouldn't be the best thing. He doesn't like the thought of her being boarded for weeks at a time and neither am I. I feel quite good about the decisions we have made so far.

So tomorrow the war really begins. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers and keep the blizzard coming. Oh the power of the love of this Board.
 
Sending lots of snowflakes for a smooth chemo tomorrow. Teddy had a few rounds of IV chemo at the start of his treatment. The worst part for him was the sedation for the procedure and being groggy afterwards. As far as chemo side effects, he had a bit of appetite loss and nausea, but overall, he really tolerated it well.

It might be worth asking your vet to give you some supplies of appetite stimulant and/or an anti-nausea drug if Tori should need it. IMHO, best to have it on hand because you know you'll need it when his office is closed!

Tori and you will be in my thoughts! Lots of snowflakes and vines.
 
You sound so....uh...strong is the word I guess I am looking for. :-D I felt such a peace come over me when i was reading your post. I admire your strength Barb....you are doing great. Your steady calm will be wonderful for Tori too. That was great that she was so good today!
We will be thinking of you and Tori tomorrow and I am saying prayers for you both now too....

Hi Barb, We'll be thinking good thoughts for Tori on chemo day 1 (and every day). So glad that the ultrasound was normal and that the nodes were fine. Stay strong and know that you have the strength of the board behind you. Give your girl some scritches for us. And try to get some sleep tonight. Blizzards of snowflakes and healing vines are heading your way tonight.

(((Barb - Tori))): Will be thinking of you and Tori tomorrow. Sending white light, snowflakes, Reiki all your way. You positive attitude will be felt by Tori. And, yes, the power of this Board is incredible. Have a balance of a good vacation, hopeful less stressful.
 
hi. i've been following Tori's story and have to say i'm sorry about the lymphoma diagnosis. you are handling it very well.

the drugs you mention sound like you might be using the Wisconsin protocol for chemo? that's what we used last year on my Spazzie. She handled it pretty well for the most part. As was mentioned, getting some anti-nausea and appetite meds to have on hand would be a good idea. we never really encountered any inappetance with Spazzie but she did have some nausea episodes about 2-3 days after some of the treatments. she wasn't about to turn down some food though, even if her tummy was doing sommersaults. :)

not sure what's allowed up there in Canada but we did some of the treatment stuff at home, to reduce costs.....sub-q's before each chemo and one of the chemo drugs was a pill (not the pred though). on the day of bloodwork, the vet would send the pill home with me and if the b/w came in good, she just called me and told me go ahead and give the drug. just some thoughts that popped into my head when i sat down here and saw this update.

there were several gals here who helped me tremendously with information so i went in prepared and very comfortable with treatments and what to expect.

ok, back to work for now and i will be praying for you guys and following you and Tori :)

Sounds like the perfect plan &, all things considered, it is going well. Hooray! We'll keep sending all the positive vibes possible. You are doing a great job and Tori knows it & loves you back 10-fold.
 
Bring on the ammunition - sending prayers for Tori to win the war. So happy the US was okay - that's a good thing.

She is such a sweetie to go through all this without raising a fuss - Any vet trying to do an US on Mittsi would have to wear armor, I'm sure. What a sweetheart your girl is.

Sending lots and lots of healing vibes and prayers - hope these weeks fly by for both of you. Am sure this is the best decision since she can remain at home with those she loves during the treatment.

Pounds of positive thoughts for you, Tori, and your son. You might want to touch base with Sufi-Lynn (through PM, she's hardly on the Board). Her civie Gigi is going through the Wisconsin protocol for lymphoma right now. She's probably 2.5 months through it.
