Good morning everyone:)

So Miss Ella has tested at the exact same number the last three tests...weird! If she gives me the same number on my +2 I'm going to compare it with my other contour just to make sure nothing funny is going on here. She had her first breakfast and is begging for more already :roll: I hope she settles down so I can go btb for a bit:)

4 more days of school! We have a few trips lined up in the summer and will be putting my mom through 'training.' She's anxious about all the poking and insulin giving so I hope she will be able to handle it:) It would be nice to go away without having to worry too much.

Good luck with the Mom training. I think you should start the training early and don't forget the Mom treats. JK.

vacations? you get to go somewhere? i think we've decided we're staying home this summer - finding someone to take care of punkin is too overwhelming. maybe next summer. i hope you're doing something really fun!!! yay for having a momster who will step in and take ella.
 
Hello all:)

I've been hosting a bbq all day and there's still people here!! It's my bedtime so I left the party. Ella has been having terrible numbers that's it's making me think something else is going on. Can a bounce last this long? She ususally clears them up quickly but she's been on the rise for days and now she's in the reds:(
She's eating and pooping but I can see she is uncomfortable with her high numbers. When I touch her jaw her mouth jitters a bit but when I look inside I don't see anything suspicious. Any thoughts as to why she's on the rise. Getting a bit worried over here.

ps: Julie, heading to Vancouver to visit friends. We booked it many months ago before knowing the full extent of how fd was going to affect our lives. I'm worried about leaving her and hope I will be able to have a good time.

If you think Ella has a health problem, you should probably take her to the vet to get checked out. How old is your insulin?
Wonderful that your mom is willing to learn how to care for Ella. I hope you can take your trip.

Hi Ella,

I started a new vile on May 18 and then dented the top of the vial on June 11th. I hope that didn't cause anything bad to happen to it. Nothing spills out of it when I turn it upside down. Not sure what's going here.
 
I don't think this is a bounce. It could still be NDW: NDW

If it persists into tomorrow.....I'd be thinking of something else. Not sure what....depends on how she is feeling and acting. If she seems just fine and is pooping ok....I'd suspect the issue with the insulin although that seems a stretch.
 
I'm leaning toward Ella's suggestion, especially since you're going to be traveling. I'd get Ella in to the vet now rather than your mom needing to do this.
 
if she reacts when you touch her jaw, that's suspicious. you'll feel better having it checked out.

when punkin had a post-dental infection last year, i could tell something was up because he didn't want his jaw scritched and instead of washing his face, his paw made the motion, but out in the air on that side.

if your mom is looking out for her, i'm sure she'll be fine! you're lucky to have a good petsitter. when our son was living here he took care of punkin a couple of times while we traveled. i just kept calling to check his numbers and give advice. amazing how much you can micro-manage from a distance. :lol:
