A country doctor had a sign over his office door that read, “First visit $25. All other visits, $10.” A man who was known to be pretty cheap went to see the doctor. He greeted him by saying, “It’s good to see you again.” The doctor proceeded to examine the man but didn’t say anything. When he finished the man was upset and asked what he was supposed to do? The doctor replied, “I want you to do the same thing I told you to do the last time you were here.”
God wants us, as His children, to be devoted to prayer. Only when we make prayer a regular discipline can we receive the “just in time” provision He has for us each day.
