Alex is very lethargic today. Don't know why exactly but he's just not his usual semi-lethargic self. Has a good appetite but not as hungry as usual either this morning. Maybe he just didn't like what I gave him today as much as usual or maybe a fluctuation in his hyper-t? Who knows :YMSIGH: But I know he doesn't feel 'sick' so that's what's important. How do I know? I just do. And no tones today so far so that's a plus :)

Alex just had his shot and a snack of Sophisticat Ocean Whitefish (the large cans serve as very good inexpensive 1 carb snacks for A&J during the day, and they really like them), and now they are both off to take a nap. i have to go work for the vet this afternoon and i gotta say that I'm glad that gig is almost over  I love doing it but ya know what they say about familiarity.....

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your day LL kitties and beans

Tess is always more lethargic when her numbers are up too. I hope this is a brief visit to RBC . At least he showed that he can go down yesterday. Take it easy today, Alex. cat_pet_icon You too Caryl :YMHUG:

Caryl,
Hope Alex starts to feel better soon, doesn't it just tear at your heart to see them that way or worse.
Buddy was kinda feeling like that yesterday. I think it was a combo of his bad day Sat, ab's he's taking, and up and down numbers. Can't wait to switch over to Lev to see if things are different.

Keep watching. I started Jackson on 1/4 Miralax bid after years of Lactulose and he responded very quickly.. I had to reduce to 1/8 tspn and I have kept him there now and still it's a little 'mushy"at times but like i also said...he feels GREAT . The stuff works great once it gets started so keep watching to see if it starts working too well on Buddy. This may be hard to tell right now because Clavimox can cause the same thing. Are you putting probiotics of any kind in his food while he's on AB's? (Culturelle, acidophillis, fortiflora)?

Have seen those written before but didn't know what they are!! Fortiflora?? What exactly does it do and where can I get it. I just increased his amount this am so will see what I find when I get home!!!

Thanks
Jan

Re: 6/22 Alex AMPS 352

Hi Caryl; Sorry I missed you yesterday. I was thinking of you and Alex. Hope he perks up for you. Maybe he's played out from the cliff diving he did yesterday. That was quite the dive. It's got to take a lot out of a little kitty. Glad there's now acetone breath today. It always amazes me when people can pick up on it when the level is trace. I'd be in big trouble if I had to worry about ketones. My nose is useless.

I hope he's feeling better for you . Purrypants is much nicer than Snarkypants Alex. Give your Mom a break OK? She tries so hard to keep you healthy.

Jan you can buy Culturelle nearly everywhere. Alex could never take Clavamox until I started putting it in his food when he's on it, because he would always get diarrhea before. You can get it at most pharmacies or even at Target or Walmart. It's a pro-biotic that prevents the good bacteria in the intestines from being killed while the antibiotic is killing the bad bacteria.(The ab can't distinguish and kills both which causes the upset stomach associated with ab's).

If you get Culturelle, open a capsule and sprinkle half in Buddy's AM meal and half in his PM meal. It works wonders when using ab's :)

Something FUNNY!

(in a sad sort of way) for a change...

I woke up at 4AM (about a half an hour before I had the alarm set to test Alex) to the sound of him making weird sounds in the kitchen or living room. I got really scared and jumped out out bed and started yelling "Alex"! "Alex'! he met me in the hallway and hanging out of his mouth was one of the blue rubber felinediabetes.com wristbands! I went to get it away from him and he was holding on for dear life (similar to a bulldog) and GROWLING. ohmygod_smile Yeah Alex, I feel the same way sometimes (not about the website, about the whole darned disease).

Do ya' think he feels the same way? :-|
