Is it unusual to jump 50 points an hour after his dosing and morning meal?

no, it's not. it's called a food spike. some kitty's numbers jump even more than that. it all depends on how carb sensitive the individual cat is. please see the "new to the group?" sticky (starred towards the top of the forum) for an example of a typical curve.

Thinking TIgger is pretty Carb sensitive. Can that decrease with time?
I'm on Fancy Feast Classics with the Turkey & Giblets Classic, Chickent Classic and Beef Classic.
They are 3, 5, and 3 carbs respectively. Compated to the Royal Canine dry he used to be on, which looks to have been 23!
