Yesterday on Ruby and the Seven Dwarfs . :cat:

Biscuits and purrs alarm went off. ✅
Ate breakfast. ✅
Might have gotten a poop last night? ✅
Lowish blue start. C'mon dose increase, do your magic! ✅

Today is Ruby's 11th day on prednisolone.

Have a wonderful start to the week, everyone! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hi Katherine, let me know if Dolly's Poop Vibes worked? "Ruby-doo we are all routing for you", and it rhymes.:cat: Hope the new dose kicks in soon. Check back later.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I was looking at your ss and saw you had trouble pilling cerenia. Do you have gel caps? I was successful with them and dipping the food in baby food or something for my cats. Then when I tried to pull Mocha I found it later under the bed. She’s going to be tough. With tough ones the gel cap and pill gin used to work plus a closed bathroom to make sure it got down.

Thanks, Elise! I believe I’ve perfected the technique now. I get Ruby on the couch and tilt her head back up against my chest so that I can hit the back of her tongue. Sometimes I miss and then she chews on the bitter pill and she’s not so happy but I get it in 9 times out of 10.

It’s funny how very cat is so different. Thought I was a pro but Mocha proved me wrong.
Ruby is very easy about most things except when I try to give her sub Q fluids and then she's like :stop:. She's got acupuncture later today and she takes that really well too.

Hope the acupuncture session went well :bighug: !! I’m with Ruby on the yes to acupuncture and no to fluids….LOL :p
She was more stressed today than she was last time. Unclear why. Maybe it's because the doctor didn't put a needle on her head today--I know that usually relaxes me. But she came home and went straight for her food bowl, always a good sign. :)

Yes! And my ears!! I wonder why they didn’t do it…..if there is some reason? Please let me know if you find out the reason :). It is a great sign that she was hungry :bighug:! I can hear you next time saying “stick one in her head please!”

And that’s without the acupuncture needle in the head :bighug:. Nice way to end your evening Katherine :)
Thanks. I was so stressed seeing yellows yesterday, but glad Rubes is responding to the new dose but not going too low <anti-jinx>. Testing again in a bit to see where this is going, but she's eating well and getting into trouble in closets so all is good!

I always put my Cerenia in gelcaps (and it is a daily med for Darcy now... not that I can tell the difference when he doesn't have it... sigh... ) but it is bitter so I gelcap it. Are you giving Ruby fluids now? I didn't realize that... but I may have missed it. I'm glad that she seems to be happy now... I would like to see those lovely greens back on her SS... a nice one tonight!

I did give Ruby fluids for a few weeks until her internist said she didn't need it. So for the sake of saving some money as I had to pay a vet tech to come and do it, I stopped. Her kidney values continued to improve without it. I'm going to have to do some blood work in a few weeks to see how the pred might be affecting her kidneys and her heart, but hopefully those values will remain stable. Yes, we did get a brief flash of green tonight. I feel like I'm on an uphill battle with the pred but I'm increasing her doses as soon as it's safe to do so and so far that seems to be working. Paws crossed. Thanks for stopping by, Suzanne. I've missed you!
