Unsuccesful getting ondansetron in by any means last night & she vomited at 4am. Not feeling well & no appetite so not getting fiber so no bm's. I don't know if this (or the underlying cause of this) is what has her cycles so flexi, but it can't help. Plus, she doesn't understand why I'm doing these awful things to her & is keeping a distance. Frustrated :(

Have a call in to the vet about injectable ondansetron, or reconsidering cerenia or having her look into prevomax (maropitant (Cerenia) using benzyl alcohol as a preservative). I guess the next step would be a scan to see if there's something amiss on the inside

I get several medications from BCP veterinary pharmacy in Houston in flavored chew treats. The will send you samples of you call. I spoke with a wonderful pharmacist named Jordan but they are all helpful. I don't know what meds come as chew treats but I know that cerenia does.

When were her labs done last? I can't access the SS - says Access Denied. Wondering if there is anything else going on besides pancreatitis? CKD, IBS?

(Bandit's kidney values worsened last year - we think due to a kidney infection - and she was vomiting, nauseous, constipated, dehyradated, anorexic - the works. She was on ondansetron, famotidine, cyproheptadine, psyllium husk and fluids for a while and it was horrible. She really hated us shoving pills down her throat. Fortunately the fluids really helped and after 3 weeks or so, we were able to completely stop all meds. What a relief. She still gets fluids every day though. )

Able to see the labs now. Labs done in March 2022 looked good but for the fPl. Can a pancreatitis flare go on for so long? She has been unwell for weeks now?
Is it possible she has some allergy to chicken? I have read here that it is a common allergen.

Possible & I spoke with the vet about an alternate meat source; she was going to check a possible local meat rabbit source, there used to be a couple in my area. I'll probably need to order online but have been swamped with work.

From what I can see on the lab results the fPL was abnormal in Dec 21 and April 22.
I never got the fPL repeated so I don’t know how long it stays abnormal for but I would not think for 4 months.
Sheba used to get over her flares within a week, or two at most.
What are the symptoms?

Mostly daily vomiting liquid & loose fur, like it never gets a chance to form a hairball. Also seems like she has a bit of reflux so I sprinkle pepcid on her food. These bouts can last a day or two, but it really puts her off, then she's okay for a bit. The ondansetron seems to help her feel better, then eat better. Also a bit constipated: small hard poo every 2 days or so (raw diet) that I've been trying to loosen up with a combo of psyllium or guar gum & now mineral or coconut oil. Nothing the past 48 hours so just started miralax tonight

The vet sorta ruled out pancreatitis since she's handling the insulin so well

Had bloodwork done last fall & kidney values looked good then.

Here's the link again, says anyone with the link can view. Let me know if it's still inaccessible: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vixn8DbFS5ZRi-ZNr7YwMqhyXCJvUfPA-DKI40TSKvg/edit?usp=sharing
I can see your spreadsheet now. I see nothing under the labs tab, but as you say they were okay last fall. You may want to repeat labs. With my senior cats, I try to get labs done every 6 months.

I’m so sorry that Maus is not feeling well. I know how sad it makes you when they start to not trust you or try to avoid you because of having to give meds, etc. @Liz & Minnie I know that Minnie is incredibly difficult to pill and you may have tips for Susan - also I believe you tried injections of Cerenia? There is also an injectable form of Ondansetron.

In my signature, there's a separate labs link. It's a pdf that goes from this spring to 2017. Most recent was March

The vet talked me out of the injectable cerenia because of the burn, & we decided to work on what's causing the vomiting. First was to get her bm's moving.

Good appetite and perky this morning, no barf since 4am yesterday
