Yesterday's Condo

Sorry I haven't done my condo sooner. Race weekend is always crazy, and add Sasha into the mix, and I really haven't been near the computer. We got home from the racetrack about 2.5 hours ago and I've been running around trying to get organized ever since.

After yesterday's shenanigans. We decided to shave a drop off Cinco's dose this morning. I just didn't want him to go low again while we were gone. We'll do it tomorrow, too, but give his regular dose at night. Looks like he was a little better behaved today. I guess I can blame myself - I did threaten a dosecrease! He is still being such a good boy and doing well. YAY - one less worry! (anti-jinx, anti-jinx, anti-jinx) :-D

I am more worried about Sasha falling and hurting herself (ie her incision) than her feeling frustrated and upset about not being able to walk. I know that will come. I'm just so scared that something will cause a setback in the healing. Her balance is not great yet. I do think the back leg issue is adding to her problems. She is a tough little cat, though. I already had the water dish and dry food dish elevated for her in the cage when we set it up - I've gotten a lot of experience with e-collars in the past year or two! I feed her the moist food on her usual plate, but I hold it for her. The soft collar would actually allow her to eat off the plate pretty well, but she seems to like it when I hold it, and I want to do whatever I can to make her happy.

She used the litter box today. I think she is unsure of her balance, so she holds it as long as she can. It's a very low box- actually a cat food case (1 inch sides), with a plastic bag covering it. Once she's more healed and gets good at that, I'll try the lowest regular litter box I have, which is about 2-2.5 inches, but that'll be a while yet.

I heard a crash this morning when I woke up, and jumped up to see her sprawled in the cage with her front leg all the way through the collar! :o She must have been trying to get it off and lost her balance. I pushed the leg back through and tightened the collar (again). I was a little concerned because there were tiny drops of blood on the pee pad where she'd been laying. I looked at the incision, and it looked like there was a very little bit of seepage in a couple of spots. Amy (the vet student) did tell me that was normal, so I didn't panic, but I did worry! We decided to go to the track later than normal today - about 2.5-3 hours later, and came home as soon as today's race ended. I just didn't want to be away from her that long, and of course, I worried all day. When we got home tonight, she had the collar completely off and was relaxing on her bed, happy as a clam! I checked the incision and it looked fine, (no new seepage) so I put her tank top on her instead. I think she will be happier in that, and it covers the incision completely. I'll just have to watch to make sure it doesn't impede her walking like the t-shirts did.

Her appetite is excellent, which is one big relief. I added some miralax to her dinner. No one had mentioned it to me. I should have thought if it myself, since bupe is a narcotic. That might explain why she hasn't pooped yet.

Once again, my condo is mostly about Sasha. I'm sorry. It's just that she's taking up so much of my time, energy and thoughts. Again, I'm grateful that Cinco is being so cooperative (anti-jinx) and allowing me to concentrate on Sasha.

I will try to visit a few condos tonight. Tri-tip is on the grill, and I'm supposed to be make peach bellinis right now, so I'd better get busy.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. Once again, THANK YOU for all the support, prayers and vines. You LL sisters and brothers are the best family anywhere! :YMHUG:

Nice safe surf from Cinco...good boy!

It sounds like Sasha is already making good progress. I knew you had a busy day today, but I've been keeping my eyes peeled for your condo anyway, and we've had you in our thoughts and prayers all day. Keep healing, Sasha!

Enjoy your DH 's belated birthday dinner and adult beverages ... You have more than earned them!

Re: 6/21 Cinco AMPS 180 +3 151 PMPS 192

Nice safe blues from Cinco today. Good idea to take a drop off the dose for safety, he'll get back on track fast enough.

Thank you for the Sasha update - you know most of LL is wondering how it's going. :YMHUG: Tons of fast healing and getting balance vines coming your way. Clever little girl on the soft collar. The tank top sounds like a good alternative.

I hope you get some time to chillax and enjoy your evening.

Re: 6/21 Cinco AMPS 180 +3 151 PMPS 192

Sasha is certainly a brave girl and a fighter! It sounds like she is doing well, all things considered. Lots more healing vines for her tonight.

Cinco, keep those nice blues going. They are a big help to your mamabean, who has a lot on her plate right now.

Hang in there, Tricia. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Lovely blue numbers for Cinco! Good boy :-D

Little Sasha....she's so sweet and it sounds like she knows how much you see doing for and taking care of her. She's so brave. I hope she is more comfortable in her tank top. Sending her many healing vines.

Enjoy your evening. Yum on the peach bellinis.

Re: 6/21 Cinco AMPS 180 +3 151 PMPS 192

Wow...I bet you were freaked out when you first saw Sasha with her paw through the collar! Hopefully she'll continue to do well with the tank top and won't have to put the dreaded "cone of shame" back on!

Cinco's trying so hard to be a good boy while you're busy with Sasha...I'll try to keep China from being a bad influence, but you know how those two can be!...LOL

Hope the tri-tips were great and you have a quiet night Tricia...those peach bellini's should help!

Re: 6/21 Cinco AMPS 180 +3 151 PMPS 192 +3 31/28! !

Holy guacamole!!! I was NOT expecting this!!!

Cinco was just snoozing peacefully when it was time to check him, but as soon as he smelled fuds (with Forti Flora on it), he got up and came right over. I got the 31 and thought I didn't get enough blood, so I checked again, the other ear, and made sure there was plenty of blood. 28!! :o  Well, guess we don't have to shave a drop off in the morning - we have a reducie! And a possible PJ party - great. I got about 3.75 hours of sleep last night and have to get up early tomorrow. Lucky me!

Off topic: We did not have peach bellinis after all - I had no mix! We had wine-a-ritas instead. They were yummy, too. I will be ordering more mix immediately. Can't imagine how that happened!! Tri-tip was perfectly cooked (medium rare). Nice, cool Delta breeze coming in through the open windows, and a cat that wants me to stay up all night! It doesn't get any better than this!

Re: 6/21 Cinco PMPS 192 +3 31/28! ! +3.5 40

Well, 8% usually brings him up, but he didn't come up very far, so I added a drop of Karo. Next up, FF gravy lovers turkey. Wheee! I haven't had one of these in a while.

Okay. We have >60 (73 @ +5). No more food (much to Cinco's disgust). Two more tests and I can go to bed!! :-D I-) I-) I-) Please, Cinco? If you do this for me, I'll give you a snack after the last test!!

   :o :o :o ...Holy moly, what a dive! I hope he continued to surf those safer numbers for you so you could get some sleep!!

It looks like Cinco wanted some extra attention last night. I'm glad you were able to get him to come up eventually.

I hope the tank top works for Sasha. It sounds like she'll be happier in in than in the ecollar. Sending hugs and prayers. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

OMG but you are being kept on your toes!! I thought a number was missing when I first read your subject line. Come on Cinco, you know better. Congrats on the reduction.

I'm glad you wrote about Sasha. We are all rooting for a quick adjustment and recovery.
