So, tonight at PMPS, Johnny tested at (in this order and between 7:58 and 8:01)...83, 120, 142, 121. We gave his regular dose (hope that was what others would recommend), but are holding onto our hats tonight in case of severe downhill rollercoastering (that's a word, right?!). Frequent testing for sure. Shot was actually at 8:10 tonight instead of the usual 8.

We started a new package of testing strips, but the number from the package matched up when we inserted the first one. Any ideas why he would test at such varying levels in such a short time span? We use the Relion Micro meter.

I thought I was a testaholic, but I don't think I've ever tested 4 times in 3 minutes. :lol:

My guess is that the 83 is off. The others are pretty close together and are pretty much within the 20% allowed meter variance. But yes, SHOOOOOOOT!

Hmmm, maybe we've set a new testing record? ;-) I know I don't post as often as I'd like, but I've seen enough "Yes, shoot!" posts to know that's probably what would be said. Brian even suggested shooting the regular .25u instead of the fat dose and I pushed for the regular dose. I said if he needs the reduction, he'll earn it. Mama likes a clean spreadsheet.

51 at +4. Gave a little bit of LC.

Right before the +3, Brian was carrying Johnny down the stairs for his test. He did something weird to his foot. Seems like maybe his ankle rolled and his foot overcompensated, but he has a blue raised up area between pinkie toe and ankle. Icing it and seeing how he does.
 
48 @ +4.5. Still feeding just some LC after each test.

Is this a dosecrease?

Should we do any MC tonight (touch of gravy) to bounce him up? Nadir is typically +8, I think.
 
sure, bump him up with a little gravy. it's late and i'm sure you'd like to get some sleep.
unless you have a hard time bumping him up tonight... i would try to hang onto the dose a bit longer in order to try to bring down some of those higher numbers in-between the greens you're seeing. i'm presuming dh is still around during the day to monitor?

Gave a tiny bit of FF grilled tuna feast with gravy at +5. A nice helping of it at +5.5 with extra gravy drizzled. Test at +6 and hopefully he's on the rise.

Yep, Brian is still here during the day, barring any ER action tomorrow. Hopefully the foot is better...
 
Thanks for the advice on the a.m. shot Jill. If needed, we'll do .25.

He's 78 at +6. Gave him the higher carb food with some gravy (FF grilled tuna with gravy). LC food out for consumption. Heading to bed. I'll check in tomorrow a.m. Thanks for being here.
