Good morning and happy beginning of the week!!
Gracie continues to churn out flat yellow cycles.....this is her sixth. Aren't you all proud of me? I haven't mentioned the "D" word yet but this is the sixth cycle so that means she has one opportunity...tonight....and then she gets the dosecrease. My yellow patience 'kini has had enough wear this weekend.   We are trying to not be discouraged that every reduction requires us to go up/down a few times before it holds.....maybe that will benefit in the long run so when she does finally get back to .5u, it won't be so difficult for her. She went to bed with me last night but when I woke up this morning, she was gone and I found her on the computer table in the office.....she stood up and arched her back and put her head down for a somersault headbutt with purr motor going like crazy. At that point I said "your BG is still up isn't it?"  She gave me a brown-eyed girl wink ;-) ;-) .
Before I barely got her settled in, I had to take Teddi to the vet. She started in with liquipoo yesterday and drinking LOTS of water. She has been scratching her right ear alot so I know the methimazole (MMI) is still causing her problems; I've been keeping aloe and some other cream on it but during the night, she had scratched it blood red. Vet said she wants to try her on a different transdermal MMI but suspects her thyroid levels are increasing again thus the liquipoo and more water. She did bloodwork...she is also concerned her kidney values are increasing although she said, clinically, she seems to be very well hydrated. It's probably a given that the dental will be postponed. She put her on metronidazole and gave me some hydrocortisone cream for her ear. Even with everything, she is still my little energizer bunny and plays and plays. We are worried that she is taking a definite downhill slide....she is such a sweet, tenderhearted little girl; our first SF and we both love her very much.
Back to work for me...working from home today. Mike is going grocery shopping (yipppeeee because I don't like doing it). Have a lovely day.
