Good morning! Cooper surfed nicely for us in the low 100's, so we actually got sleep last night! Yay! Between naps earlier in the night and then going to bed after we realized he was surfing, we got at least 6+ hours. I feel more human today.
We've also realized that we had a little bit of a difference in what we were actually giving Cooper once we reached 5 units on 6/12 and the subsequent reductions since, and then how we were recording it on our SS. The line on our syringe for 5 units is double the size of the lines for anything below it. So when we first gave 5 units, we went to the middle of the line for 5 because it was so thick and we really didn't know how to judge that. When we started back over on the morning of 6/16, after the 18+ cycle on 6/15, we went to the top of the 5 unit line instead because we realized that we really couldn't effectively repeat the middle of line dosing again and we didn't know about the caliper method yet. So what we gave starting 6/16, we've changed that to 4.75f on our SS. So he essentially got a tiny reduction then I guess. When it was time for an official reduction on the evening of 6/18 to what we thought would be 4.75, we basically reduced it by what we thought would be 0.25 based off of the top of the 5u line. But we have realized that actually put it closer to 4.5 than 4.75, so we've changed that to 4.75s. Because he was so low this morning again at AMPS, we decided to make it consistent and true up the dose to 4.5. If he needs to go up again, we're going to test out the caliper method. The 5 unit line is so much bigger than the units leading up to it, so it's tricky. So I guess he's basically gotten three very tiny reductions in steps over the last week. Sorry to be confusing!
Anyway, this might create a little bounce but at least we can be consistent with the 4.5 and then do calipers if we need to go up. So far he's surfing in the green today.
