Well, took Tuscany to vet for follow up on the paw Alien. There has been no change. We drew some blood - gonna see how the kidneys are doing these days - kind of in prep for potential surgery. Vet would prefer to send me - could go either oncology or ortho. No known cancer and if onc wasn't convinced it was malignant tumor they might just send me over to ortho anyways. So, don't know which way to go - anyone have any thoughts??

Going to wean the steroids - have been at 1/2 dose for 4 days - gonna take it to 1/2 pill every other day for few days and stop. Have brought insulin dose down to almost where it was before we started the steroids. Getting some decent numbers.

I'm tired - I think I'll let DH stay up and do next test......

I'd suggest talking to both onc and ortho vets. Decide based on who you think is the most competent and compassionate. I'd also ask your vet (or anyone in the office that you think has a good handle on people) who he'd let treat his most favorite companion.
