Thank you for all the ondansetron feedback yesterday! I thought I was remembering things correctly, but I needed confirmation from my incredibly knowledgeable L&LL family! I ended up not using it, though, because I could tell as the evening progressed her nausea symptoms were diminishing. Earlier in the day, she was eating but doing some lip smacking (not significant, but noticeable to a helicopter bean) and just not eating normally in style or quantity. But by the evening the lipsmacking was gone, and she was starting to eat more, and eat more normally (ie, reaching out for the plate with enthusiasm and not stopping abruptly). When I woke up at 2:30am to check on her, I found her roaming around the family room in search of stray kibbles left on the floor by the kibbleheads, so I gave her a good sized snicky-snack, which she ate in a VERY normal fashion - both in style and quantity. Both of this morning's breffises have also been pretty normal, too...probably a little less than usual, but not drastically so.

When I got up this morning, she came scurrying to the bedroom door to greet me. And when she came for snuggles, she took a flying leap on to my lap.

It's a little too early and I'm a little too superstitious to say "we're back on track" just yet, but yes, she definitely does seem to feel much better today. So I guess/hope it was just a flukey one-time deal...anti-jinx. Since she does scavenge for kibbles, I wonder if she could have found an old one that was under the couch or something along those lines. It will remain a mystery, though. I know I was getting panicky yesterday afternoon as we were approaching the "24 hour mark" from when she barfed, but I made it through without passing out from over-stressing myself! Age has really turned me into a crazy worrywort.

Today is my Dad's first chemo in over 2 months....definitely a little nervous about that, since we don't know for sure what the scan says or what the protocol will be. We have an idea, but the scan will dictate for sure. Then, we have to get used to the new routine and hope that he responds and reacts just as well as he did with the old protocol.

With that, it is time to start getting ready. Have a great day, L&LL!

Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee:

I too am glad that Trixie is feeling better today. Good news! Perhaps it was just a one day deal. Love the AMBG Trixie. YaHOO! Nice too on the jump to the lap. :cool:

Good luck to your dad. I hope all goes well.

Have a great day today.

So happy to hear that Trixie is feeling better today.

Hope all goes well with your Dad!

Have a great day.

I'm glad Trixie got over whatever was bothering her. I missed your condo yesterday. I give Max a day or so to see if ondansetron is really needed but no more than that. If I nip it in the bud I can sometimes prevent a full blown episode but of course ECIDnot to mention each episode can be a little different around here.

Hi Amy,
So happy to hear that Trixie is feeling better (all by herself!). Good girl. Now, Trix, don't over-eat at the party tonight!!

Sending vines for your dad.

Thanks for your input on vaccination!
