Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty had a good night and this morning he had a good morning routine (minus his "lung treat", which we will attempt later). At the moment he is snoozing in his basket. Rusty will hold the fort today while we go canoeing.

It's a beautiful summer-like day and today's paddle is one of my favorites: 5 ponds with short carries between 2 of them, a wilderness area (i.e., no motorized anything), and probably lots of blackflies. Yesterday they were bad, and today may be worse (they like hot, sunny weather, and it is supposed to get up to 80 degrees today). When we get home this afternoon Rusty will enjoy some outdoor time. In the meantime he can head over to Elsa's and sample the nip pizza that Bug and Lola are baking in the treehouse.

Wishing you all a fine Monday and sending healing vines to all kitties and beans in need,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Ella and Rusty,

It sounds like you guys have a great plan for today - paddling canoe and some outdoor time for Rusty. Who could ask for more - well maybe fewer blackflies. Have a great day and I hope Rusty surfs in the green lagoon all day for you.

Hi again,
It looks like Rusty had a good surf in the lagoon today. He was asleep when we left, so I hope he wasn't too upset to find us gone when he woke up. He ate almost all the food left out for him and was very happy to see us at +9. Now we are chillaxin' on the couch watching the Mets game. Rusty enjoyed his dinner (Wild Calling chicken) on the couch.

Our paddle was gorgeous. The blackflies and mosquitos enjoyed it, too! I wore my head net, but Edward didn't put his on Until it was too late. Several of our group went swimming, but the water was pretty cold. We saw loons and Merganzers. We explored some small creeks and wetlands until the water level got too low.

I took a couple of pics and will try to post one tomight or tomorrow,

Wishing all a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Ella ~O)

WOO HIOO! What a great day for Rusty! Greens, and a nice pmps. surf well tonight Rusty.

You paddle sounds wonderful. What a great day for all there. Bummer on the flies. and the mosquitoes, and for you on winning that war. Swimming too? That had to ave been cold for those that did.
I spent mine at Snoqualmie Pass. It i all on FaceBook, but since you don't do that here's a breif description of the day, as I wnated to share it. Went to Golds Creek Pond, a repeat for me, done it a dozen times. I love that place. the hike is mega easy, and the views are incredible. Just very pretty all around. I have taken the boys there a couple of times too, we so need to go back. They have loved it in the past, so a for sure. Fun today: the geese were there with all their babies. ALot of baby geese up on the waters of the pass, just not Gold Creek Pond I also went to the Snoqualmie RR Tunnel. That was an experience. Sheshhhh it is 2.5 miles long, very cold in there, and completely dark, short of light that enters near the entrances. DARK is an understatement. It didn't freak me out or anything, one can see the "light at the end of the tunnel", even thought it is a very tiny spec. Sure wouldn't recommend it to anyone that had issues with the dark or were claustrophobic. Took me about an hour to do the 2.5 - 3.0 in. I kept thinking it had better be worth it with good views when I get to the end. it was . anyways.... quite the experience that was. I just wish there had been more RR stuff there - very little to be seen, short of the tunnel itself. Wound up the adventure with a stop off at Coal Creek, which connects to Gold Creek. No trail just a 1.5 miles off trail exploration of the creek. enjoyed that alot too. and so went today. A really nice day, had a great time. Watch for this photos when I do my weekend condo, as they are so so gorgeous!!! anyways... didn't mean to j hijack your condo with my adventures. I look forward to the photos you took!

Hi Ella,
It sounds like you had a wonderful day! :-D
And I'm glad Rusty is having a nice evening with his beans.
Looking forward to the pics!

Hi again,
Thanks for the visits. Michelle, your adventure sounded adventurous! Wow on the tunnel. Did you have your headlamp? Looking forward to seeing the pics.

Liz: my knee felt really good today. I think pushing the manual lawn mower yesterday was good for it. And we did about a mile of portages today and that was good, too.

Tired tonight. See you all tomorrow.

Ella & Rusty

And back in the lagoon he goes. Almost the same AMPS and PMPS. Sounds like a good day for Rusty - and dinner on the couch. :-D

The paddle sounds lovely. I love looking at wildlife and birds when we are on the water too. Mosquitoes motivate us to go faster.

Hi Ella - I should have brought my headlamp, but SILLY ME didn't take my main back pack, which is where it was. so.... just used a small flashlight. Excellent on your knee btw! :-D
