Threats will get you anywhere... at least they got Mannie an AMPS of 135, with a +2 of 113. Tell them they ARE getting a dosecrease if the numbers don't improve - and voila! - 135. YAY! and thank you Mannie cat_pet_icon and the next step - please surf this ok buddy? you can do it! :thumbup and anti-jinx anti-jinx anti-jinx. I have front loaded this cycle, in any attempt to keep this even, steady and reduce the inevitable bounce. They boy does love to bounce, and well duh: an hero to all those that love trampolines, bungees and cliff diving.

WCR: Nice! A mellow morning for Mannie, even breakfast was laid back - took coaching to get him to finish breffis #1. breffis #2 was devoured, as well as #3. He was my feet warmer last night - kept them warm and toasty, and made sure I didn't oversleep this morning. Go Kitty! He's spending these few moments staring at the back yard, waiting for the door to open - boy needs his fix of grass rolling, rubbing and chewing. An excellent start today.

Oh YAAAAAAAA! It is so good to see these numbers!! I think I felt the same sigh of relief you felt as well. Now that I know how horrible it is to see a cat not budge from miserably high numbers, I just HATE seeing it with others. Im jumping up and down over here!

Just keep feeding the curve. That's a relatively good size drop for +2 so Mannie may be thinking or a dive.

and good morning all that Have visited Mannie this morning. looks like he is thinking, and thought maybe he might think about scuba diving. We had a little discussion about that, and told him it probably was not a good idea. He got a little MC instead. Ought to be an interesting morning.

Hi guys! Finally a green surf! I HOPE this is the break we have been waiting for - lower numbers, less pinks, more blues and greens. paws-crossed and anti-jinx....

Stu - my man! I DID IT! do you believe it? and yay - i got really yummy food, though i am stuffed now, and treats. that was cool, so i could pretend i didn't see those pokey things. i hate those. I got lots of hugs too - but my bean won't let me out.... something about needing to still check. shesshhhh - haven't even gotten my grass fix yet. I might have to sneak out... no worries - i plan on being smart, not stupid, and i HOPE my internal organs got the message. later dude - I need grass! ~~ Mannie

and all diving gear on board... i can only imagine what he would have done without the front load of the cycle, plus the additional through the morning. my oh my!

good question! I think I will go for 2 - if only because we have been there before, and only ended up pink pink pink and an increase. This is one of the few really low cycles for him since we changed feeding methods. I think maybe he should be more consistent before I lower, more greens, more blues. Ironic in that last night I was ready to up it. :shock: and hindsight: probably a good thing I didn't.... :roll:

and yes - what a morning! I am grateful that our house guest, Chloe - another FD kitty, has been consistent today.

FWIW, I wouldn't be inclined to reduce yet either, considering that last night we thought he needed an increase. Hopefully he can settle in to these numbers for a little while before we have to reduce.

Hi Libby, and thanks! It is nice to read affirmation of my line of thinking. I would really like to see him settle here for a bit. YAY - can hardly wait for pmps... nailbite_smile should be interesting!

+7 58. wow - not too sure i expected that. fed a little more gravy stuff: 1 tsp, retest in 30 minutes.

75 @ +7.5.... short errands to run - DH is in charge, will take a chance and leave Mannie with food while I am gone. nailbite_smile

What does front load the cycle mean? More food, or different carb value?

You are awesome! Look how happy your bean is! Great job, but surfing is more fun than scuba-ing. There are lots of nasty things which live in the deep. :shock: Don't get on the trampoline either. You've had enough excitement for one day. Good luck getting to go outside!

Hi Myla - front loading the cycle means in summation: feeding the first part of the cycle to offset the effects of the insulin, to attempt to keep the cycle more even, reduce the possibility of large bounces. For example: Mannie is fed at ps, +1, +2, and +4, small snack at +9. rather than every 4 hours. He is a notorious bouncer, and feeding in this manner has lessened the severity of these bounces and kept his cycles more even, thus allowing we hope his pancreas etc to heal.

Hi all! What is so nice about this cycle is that it has been 2.5 hours since his last amt of food (as DH blew that aspect but ok in the long run), and he is holding the surf. I cannot tell you how happy this makes his bean - this alone is a breakthrough, before he would rarely hold it without dropping or bouncing. Can't wait for his pmps. no bouncing Mannie, and anti jinx anti-jinx

wow and what a day - it was so nice to see all that green surfin' and to see Mannie do some of it all on his own. wow, and amazing. Of course he bounced, as he always does.
