Yesterday http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=73321 was the first day of a new dose, with only brief sightings of blue. Today is more interesting, at least it's not a black start! I hope she'll get some better coloured dresses on for Simon's party.

Neko maintains CPC and helped Theo with any fragments he left behind. Speaking of behind, lots of successful results from both cats in (and out, sigh!) of the LB. At least the pee was in. Not sure who was the culprit(s) of the other outside sightings, as I was in the shower when they occurred. Good results for buffalo and the Restoralax. After brekkie cleaning done, Neko has done two yard patrols and it settled in front of the auto-feeder for the next go-round.

Cloudy today with blue patches. The water was nice and flat for rowing, with only one other boat on the water. My father is having cataract surgery today on one eye, probably right about now, so my parents will be over for lunch. They live on an island so have to come over to town for the hospital, and they have a follow on appointment with the surgeon but not until close to 4, so they'll be visiting to kill time in between. I don't know what they expect people to do for several hours who don't have somewhere to hang out for a while.

I know you did you best this AM, Neko, but how about some lower floors today? Isn't that great that cataract surgery can be so routine? Paws crossed that all goes swimmingly with your dad.

Well, Neko tried to find other dresses for tonight, but I think all she found was yellow. The readings for +4 and +6 were taken after coaxing her out from under the bed with the treat bag, so perhaps a bit inflated. Normally Neko is OK with my parents so not sure why she dove for the bed this time. Part way during the visit Theo decided to join her, also unusual. After lunch my father decided on a short nap (they got to the ferry line up at 6:40, so an early start for them). I saw my father go to lie down and not looking where he was stepping. He just missed a fuzzy tail peaking under the bed, but Neko quickly whipped it out from under foot.

Other than tired, my father seems fine. It's his second cataract surgery so glad to get it finally done. He needs to take drops of 3 medicines 4 times a day. My mother helps out with that. My mother had both her eyes done a couple of years ago and now only needs readers. The hard part of waiting for a second surgery is that your glasses prescription now only work for one eye and it's too short a time to get new glasses. And now he'll need a new prescription. My mother has been doing a lot of the driving lately, she'll be glad to give that up. Some context, her 90th birthday is later this week.

@Devon - I was hoping for lower than yellow, but with the increase at +2, knew it wasn't going to happen.

@Pip - Neko is playing hard to get today. Maybe tomorrow.

@Liz - It is nice to have the surgery just be part of regular day surgery. Seems pretty common with my parent's generation. I'll later on today what the doctor said, but they are probably in a ferry line up to go home now. Makes for a long day.

@Melissa - well is was a low red... Hope she doesn't end up back there in the PM.

@Reagan - all good so far with DD. Lunch was pretty good if I say so myself. Chicken, leek and apple soup from me and DH made soda bread. Soup is my dad's favourite lunch and he didn't get to eat breakfast today so needed something hearty.

@Sienne - all good so far with DD. Neko is either bouncing, NDW'ing or both. Still just cycle 3, last time it was cycle 5 before we saw action.

@Tamara - yellow is better than red. Maybe she'll find a prettier one tonight.

A pretty yellow dress is nicer than pink and red :-D

Good to hear your dad's eye surgery went well, hopefully he heals up nice and fast.

Hi Wendy - I am glad that all went well for your father - good deal! I am with you when they make these folks wait forever in between appts. not like the have alot of options on what to do. It is nice though that they could spend some time with you. I hope it was fun.

Neko - I like your yellow. It is far superior to the color Mannie is sporting at the moment...

Wendy, glad that your dad's eye surgery went well. This type of surgery so common in Hongkong too.

I have no idea where this came from. She hasn't had any number worth bouncing this much for a while. No major drops. Just a complete mystery. What a cat - keep 'em guessing! :twisted: :o

@Tracy - Neko decided on basic black tonight. I keep telling her it isn't really slimming and she ought to give those dresses to charity.

@Michelle - well, what can I say? :roll: I sure didn't feel like posting this one tonight either. Hope she recovers as quickly as Mannie did. It was good to spend time with the parents. I saw them on Friday, but not on Father's Day. We are only 10-15 minutes away from the hospital so quite convenient.

@Helen - thanks on the kinds thoughts on my DD's operation. I'm hoping for blue too but not sure I'll get it now. There is always tomorrow.

+2 398 and over a hundred point drop at +2. Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have wished that she recover as quickly as Mannie.
