I set out my other cats dry food while Allie was on the back porch watching the birds and squirrels, next thing I know she is lying on the bed with Cassie my other kitty and Cassie's dry food bowl was empty! So at Allies +2 she got into the high carb dry food. Cassie had to go back on it since she had some crystals in her urine. I did a few tests and I'm surprised her numbers were not higher! Not sure how that will play out in her numbers.

When my diabetic cat has gotten into HC dry food (mostly our dog’s food), it actually takes longer than I would expect to “peak” in his system, and a surprisingly long time to get out of his system after.

Take a peek at my SS and look back in early Jan and late April for the fun that was Faraday eating HC kibble.

Those numbers sure did shoot up. Allie ate the dry at 10am this morning. I've been trying to feed her more whole food like Reveal in broth as opposed to the Fancy Feast pates. I will have to be more attentive because she is sooooooooo sneaky! She found that food in a hurry. One minute she was on the porch next she was on the bed and I just knew she got into it.. She's a bloodhound cat!
She sure did enjoy herself, see what tomorrow brings.

Faraday's numbers look great! You all have been at this a while I see! How did he feel after eating that high carb food? Did you have any problems at all other than the high numbers?

He haunted the water bowl when his numbers were really high, but that seemed about the extent to any outward signs of high BG numbers. Hopefully Allie recovers quickly from her sneaky snacking!

Thank you so much! Her numbers are a little higher and she does drink her water but nothing as high as you saw ....knock wood. She was higher this morning but maybe a bounce? That is one thing she has always wanted to eat and she does get her water in. Just like Faraday, when her numbers are higher so is her water intake.
