It's very exciting to see him do so well! I love both of my felines but Spaz is my special boy. I always said I preferred cats to dogs as dogs are codependent and needy, and I ended up with a codependent and needy cat that I wouldn't trade for the world :D!
 
Go Spaz ! Was he on TR protocol? Spaz was dx 2 weeks after Fred. Fred is also on Lantus and I just switched him from FF classic to Friskies pate.
 
I guess he was on something similar to TR protocol. I didn't really have too much of a chance to truly establish a protocol for him before he decided to surprise me with potential remission.

I was feeding him a combination of Purina DM dry and FF pates when I finally decided to "smarten up" and took away the kibble. His BG dropped within a week or two after doing so and my vet wanted me to stop his insulin. We went from two units two times a day to zero rather than a gradual dose decrease. A bit of a risk but he has been doing really well.
I have a few cans left of Friskies to still feed him, but he seems to have a strong preference for FF so I will be sticking with that from now on.
