How does the 2 drop dose compare with 0.10U? Wondering if you can go up to 0.25U with nadirs in the 80s

I feel like theres a definite variation on how they're printed, yes, but I also feel like there's one stupid air bubble that always gets caught that I can never seem to dislodge no matter how much I tap the syringe.
Honestly, on that ONE LONE syringe I was testing with seemed to have different printing than all the others I've been using since. I feel like sometimes the 2 drops goes ABOVE the '0 unit' line, even though I'm fairly certain they've all been the same amount, unlodgable airbubbles not withstanding.
I'm still wondering if nadir will move further out the bigger the dose gets. It makes sense the tinier the dose, the tinier the depot and the tinier the duration?

I'm not sure that the amount of insulin can be related to nadir or duration. That's a good question. Before she got sick and had to go on steroids, Ruby's nadir had always been somewhere between +2 and +4 around onset, though sometimes she surprised me with one slightly later. After she got through her insulin resistance early on in her sugar journey, she seemed to react well to each dose of insulin I administered, so nadirs happened early. I think an early nadir may be a sign that the pancreas is sputtering out some of its own insulin in reaction to a larger meal at preshot time, and then in combo with the Lantus the BGs drop. Does that make some sense?

But you're on Lantus, and from what everyone has told me, Lantus nadirs are usually a little earlier, and Levemir nadirs are usually later?
Olivia could just be an oddball in regards to that, though. I wish I could have stayed up last night to catch when it would hit, but I was too beat

Oooo, she about to slip into the 60s, and either way you slice it, we're not at nadir.
Gave her a little bit more turkey/beef breakfast, on stand by with a can of MC.
EDIT: 63 @ +2.5, she started following me around wanting food.
Gave a teaspoon of 8%.
Will be back at +3

At 63, it was obvious by the next test she was gonna be in the 50s, when you're supposed to feed MC. I was worried that the 8% would be too LC, even!

Hard to say actually, she's had such early nadirs it might have just been bad timing. Like she was flattening out and you just kind of gave her an early boost up.

I found that once Ruby's pancreas started working again that she needs just a little LC/raw food to pick her up out of the 50s rather than anything higher. Olivia's looks like it might be working as well. Trial and error is the best we can do because ECID. Don't be too hard on yourself, think of it as a learning experience.

No green PMPS for us tonight, phooey. Overall, not bad. She spent more time in the greens than blues today.

Technically you should hold for 10 cycles with all these greens. Given how she went today, probably good idea to see how she does tomorrow (perhaps without MC-ish intervention LOL). It seems to me like she has some more settling in to do at this dose, but curious what others think.

She's crashed on the couch now. She always gets sleepy after every shot, and I know its probably just because shes busy digesting her food because she's always in safe numbers this soon afterward, but it also wigs me out lol, now more so.

Mr Kitty has been sleeping hard too. Twice since switching to Levemir he hasn't heard me coming, which is unlike him. Both times I had a mini panic attack. He really seems to feel better on Levemir vs Lantus, even if his numbers aren't quite right yet. I even found a hairball! It's been forever since I found one.

It's funny how you get so excited about gross things like that, when you realize it's a sign of them getting better.
Hes such a gorgeous cat, though. I miss my all black kitty. I always say my next one will be an all black cat, but then I get Chosen by some other cat and it's like, WELP.

With that 63 she gave you this morning, I agree with Melissa and would say hold and see what Olivia's got up her furry sleeves.
When I went to the kitty adoption place many years ago, I was looking for a pair of black kittens. I found two boys, but they didn't seem to like me very much. Then I came upon a cage with a tux and a gray and white tabby and the tux melted in my arms and started purring and the tabby jumped on my shoulders and hung out. There starts the story of Olive, Ruby, and me.

Awww, I love that story T_T Did they already have those names when you adopted them/were they pair bonded? I feel like it's often hard for pair bonded kitties to get adopted, when people are often just on the market for ONE cat.
My sister just arrived for an impromptu visit, and brought her dogs

I’m pretty sure they are sisters from the same litter. When I took them to the mobile spaying unit a few weeks after I adopted them I met the man who found them. He was a cab driver and was bringing another cat to be fixed. He recognized them as kittens he found in a parking lot in Queens. Their names were Diane and Wilhemina, so I changed them because they needed cuter names! The agency who handled the adoption does not allow for single kittens to be adopted, only pairs. The fact that Ruby and Olive grew up together accounts for why they are such good cats with no behavioral issues because they always had each other.Awww, I love that story T_T Did they already have those names when you adopted them/were they pair bonded?
