Good morning LL! Stormy stormy here this morning (thankfully). We definitely need the rain. Tarragon, however, was not enjoying the thunder and lightning. He was difficult to test and give his shot to which is very rare. He is coming out of his bounce from yesterday slowly but surely.

Thinking about Sandy today. There were many tears shed for Tessie Lou last night in LL. The sugarcats helped Tessie Lou find her way to the bridge at their red moon party. She can now run and play with Copper and Butthead and all of the other kitties that were there waiting for her.

Hope you all have a great Thursday!

Re: 6/16 Tarragon AMPS 284

So glad to see Tarragon is coming down from that bounce!

Rain is good, but I hope the storms aren't too bad for you guys, especially since they scare T. Have a great day!

Re: 6/16 Tarragon AMPS 284

Happy Tarragon is clearing the bounce. Let's see some blues!

Sorry about the storms, they do scare our kitties.

Re: 6/16 Tarragon AMPS 284

Yes it's been such a sad week in LL.

Glad to see Tarragon clearing his bounce. Come on Tarragon, let's get back to the blues and greens again like you were at on Tuesday!

Hi guys .. nice to see tarragon clearing his bounce .. sorry to hear about the storms, they always scare our girls too .. yes, a sad day indeed in LL ...

Re: 6/16 Tarragon AMPS 284

I hope Tarragon is doing ok, his numbers are looking pretty good, especially for being stressed. I believe you mentioned in the past that he doesn't do well with storms so I hope it all passes soon and he can get back to feeling better.

Re: 6/16 Tarragon AMPS 284

Glad Tarragon is hanging in there okay after the storms and clearing the bounce. Maggie gets frightened of any noises. Once in a great while we have thunder and under the bed she goes! Hope your day is going well.

Re: 6/16 Tarragon AMPS 284

At least he is consistent.

Tarragon is having that asthma cough today. He hasn't had an episode since Sept. I'm going to try and get him in tomorrow for a breathing treatment and start him on an inhaler. Any advice from the asthma kitties out there? We had always controlled it with a steroid shot with our old vet which led to FD.

Oh I hope Tarragon's asthma cough improves overnight and you get some help from other Beans who have the same issue with their kitties. Good luck with the Vet tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by my condo and so glad your appt. went well today with the Rheumatologist and your meds are working. Feel better vines to Tarragon for that cough.

I hope Tarragon's asthma cough gets better without any medication. My cat, Boots (GA) had asthma but he was not diabetic so they always gave him the steroid. I'm not sure what the alternatives are out there for diabetic cats with asthma. Hope you get some good advice from the vet and with others here on the board.

in regards to the asthma question, i might suggest also posting on Health for input there too. I can think of a few members with asthma cats but they don't post here in lantus isg that i recall. and i can't recall who here does have asthma kitties for that matter. LOL!! like first to come to mind is karen & pearl as pearl is asthmatic and i believe uses the aerokat system. i think karen even made a video of her giving pearl a treatment.

eta: did a quick youtube search and came up with this

Hey Melissa,

Curry is dx w/asthma and is on flovent (inhaled steriod) given twice a day. We use the aerokat inhaler to administer the flovent. She is very well controlled on it.

Vet initially had Curry on Albuterol to be given if she coughed. I saw that she was coughing numerous times during a week so he put her on the flovent. Many of the folks as well as myself get our flovent from 4 Corners Pharmacy which is alot less expensive. Its located in New Zealand. I happen to get my Revolution from them as well.

Curry will relax while I give her the flovent treatment since she hears my voice counting out loud and I stroke her head while I give it. Curry's been on it for awhile now.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Looks like Tarragon is trying to come down the ladder!! Champ has asthma, but his coughing episodes are so infrequent. They've even reduced since he's had diabetes. In fact, he hadn't had one for months until this week. Purring is what triggers his attacks. Whenever I hear him purr loud, I know what's going to happen so I immediately stop petting him in the hopes he'll stop purring and he won't start coughing. I remember how freaked out I was the first time he coughed like that!!

Hi Melissa & Tarragon, I hope that you will find a treatment for Tarragon's asthma. It sounds like you have gotten some good advice tonight.
Meanwhile, the kitties are celebrating Checkers' OTJ. Maybe a niptini or two would help asthma?!

Have a good night, guys,
Ella & Rusty
