When I got up this morning CL was on the couch and before I could stop her she climbed up on the arm of the couch and jumped off. Her two front paws buckled and the front of her body hit the floor. I could tell that it was real painful for her. She is still limping and I'm afraid that jumping is the cause of her problem. How do you tell a cat that they are not allowed to jump?

Awww, poor baby  I think CL will figure this out on her own eventually. Watch her today and make sure it doesn't get any worse (the limping) and if it does, I would call the vet. The cosequin is meant to bring the inflammation down, so hopefully when you give her that, it will help the limping too. Is she on pain meds? If so, that may be why she forgets that this is painful (the jumping) because she feels good enough on the meds that she does not realize this can cause her pain. (I know this cause when pain meds kick in for my bone on bone knee I do too much and pay later when the meds wear off  )

Hoping she feels better later. I know how hard it is to see our babies in pain. :YMHUG:

My vet recommends a few days of rest before allowing stairs and jumping, to make sure the anesthesia has cleared and when the pain meds which mess up your judgement, are finished.

A warm spot to lie may help the aches resolve a bit or at least feel good to her.

They did not send any pain meds home with her. They only sent antibiotics. I put a heating pad in a bed for her and I've been keeping it turned on however she hardly gets in it. One thing she is doing is going outside on the porch. She seems to want to lay in the shade and not the sun. Im going to try and figure out how to keep her from jumping.

Sorry she is still not walking well, Terri. Did you try the b12 also?

Can you get a midcycle number today? That might help you figure out if it is time to increase.
