That is am pre shot after no insulin yesterday....And a dental with two extractions...and he's still pissed...
Can we say NO INSULIN for you Peake!!!!!!!
Doin a big fat dance over here.......
Boy otj would be a great gift.....he's crossing his giant paws! I'm crossing everything......

It would be great if he continues down this path! But (sorry, gotta throw a "but" in there), definitely keep monitoring him. A number of us saw gorgeous numbers the day or two after having dentals...probably the result of reduced pain, since pain will raise BGs.

Good luck...hopefully he'll be one of the lucky ones! Keep those fingers and paws crossed!

(BTW - Hi! I don't think I've visited any of Peake's condos yet!!)

Hello! We haven't stopped by to say hello before. Wow! Those are great numbers. Definitely keep testing, but you take all you can get with FD.

Wow, that is a great number. His teeth must have really been troubling him. Don't forget that the meds may be influencing his bgs. Did you shoot this morning?
Good luck with integrating Peake with your crew. I hope it will work out.

WTG Peake!!

I know you mentioned you were having some troubles (to put it mildly!) with getting BG tests... do you have any FD approved treats that might make for good enticements? I've found that Willie is MUCH more cooperative when purebites chicken treats are part of the process!

Fingers and paws crossed here that these wonderful numbers will hold!!
 
More about Peake...

Thanks Carolyn for hooking up the last 2 condos. I'm used to the old board...Spunky was already gone when this one came out. Peak had two terribly abscessed teeth removed yesterday....he has resorptive disease so there will be more to follow. But she took out the obviously abscesssed ones.
He had been receiving lantus 1 unit twice a day supposedly since march...with no home testing thT I am aware of. He was started by another vet. When the owner died her daughter took him and brought him to my vet. She did treat for awhile but stopped giving insulin a week ago yesterday. She brought him in for euthanasia on sat. The vet rescued him and gave him .5 units insulin after bg in mid 350's (vet was surprised it wasn't higher after 4 days wit no insulin) he was given .5 twice on sun...mon morn accidentally got 1 unit... Mon night .5 unit preop he was bg300
No insulin at all yesterday...then he tested the 84 this morn so no I did not dose him! Pleas note: the spreadsheet link below is NOT PEAKES those beautiful numbers were my beloved spunky. I was really challenged getting that link hooked up in the first place....I'll be revisiting trying to make a spreadsheet for peak and linking it...worst case scenario if I can figure out how to access spunky's old one I can use it and start new section for Peake...it's been a long time! At leas there are stickies helping with this stuff now....so wonderful! We didn't have that back when i started.
I will totally be checking him....he Hates being tested...does not know me....is in a new house...poor thing! He was not happy about the buprenex this morn...I'm the torture lady!
I'll try for a bg at dose time tonight...i know it is to early to be excited...but I am! Cautiously optimistic. Sophie shunned me last night.... No one will be meeting for at least a week.....

Peake's numbers are NOT those below.....work in progress! :roll:
 
Peake 123 tonight....

No insulin....although he growls like a banshee when I test..he forgives me...
He's leary of me...but when he gets lovey..he's really lovey!
tried food during test..he's much too mad to eat ;)
Will test again in the morning.
 
wow! as upset as it sounds like he is i'm surprised at the numbers. i'd really expect them to be higher. maybe he won't need any insulin at all eh. poor guy sounds scared to death though that's for sure.
 
Jennifer, what a great thing you're doing. I predict Peake is going to learn to adore you, even when you are Torture Lady. :mrgreen:
