Morning ~O) ~O) and don't mine me with the two meters. I'm running an experiment on the new AT strips with the old AT meter and learning that using the new strips in the old meter shows a higher bg. I'll be in touch with ADW on it and also talking with one nice Bean over on Health and also Vetty. I'll need to make a decision. As you can see, there is almost a 50 point variance using the new AT strips, a smaller variance with a lower number.

All is well with Maggie pie and she did some mega chatter last night. I got up ro ask her what is wrong and was going to carry her off to bed when she decided to scoot over to the patio patrol spot. I dunno; I guess she just wanted to awaken me to make sure I was breathing? :lol: Mags had two mini Wellness Turkey breffifs, good lb, play time later. She has now taken over my bed before I had it made. Lots of errands today which will take me out and about. If the cloud cover isn't too thick, I'll get in an early walk. I meet all my neighborhood dogs when I do the early walk (the Owners, too). :-D I've been missing them by walking later.
Sending healing vines to Liz and also to all kitties needing them.

That is really crazy on the strips. I am anxious to hear what they tell you. Good investigative work Ann to figure that out. Sweet Maggie just was checking on you in the night. What a good girl. Enjoy your errands and hope you get your walk in!

'Morning Ann. Maggie's showing nice numbers, even with the variance. I get that with my meters also, and just have to stick with one, just for the consistency, even with the difference in numbers.
That made no sense at all, written down :lol:
Hope little chatterbox, gives you nice safe numbers to go out today. :-D

WOW on the strips!! Good luck with your experiment. You will have to post what they, ADW etc, tell you. One would not expect new strips in a meter to do that - very interesting...

Another oh wow on the mega chatter last night. Guess Maggie wanted company. Enjoy the walks - I used to love the early morning ones too - all the neighbors are out, with their dogs, or just hanging out on their porch with a cup of coffee. It was nice to see them, share a little talk. Enjoy - I hope you make the early one!

Thanks Melissa on the detective work. :-D Yes, I wish Mags wouldn't worry about my well being while asleep :lol: but sweet that she does so. I also think she wanted more food, so hidden motive.

Hi Michelle, I didn't see you up there as we posted at same time. Yes, will let you know what ADW has to say about it. Yes, so funny with Vyktor and Maggie romance. :lol: I do love the early morning walks especially in the summer.

Hi guys .. good luck with the meter/strip comparison .. I hope you get it all figured out .. Miss maggie sounds like she is having a good morning .. what's better then a big bed all to yourself? I love getting out and meeting the dogs in our neighborhood .. they are so cute! Have a great weekend!

Thanks Devon on the strips thingy. Mags is up to 155 with the new strips, but the Relion Confirm reads at 108. So Mags hasn't been as high as I originally thought! I love meeting up with the dogs, too. We are only allowed cats here, with the exception of servic dogs.

Glad to see those numbers are from the new strips. Interesting, the first 2 tests were 25% different the last closer to 30%. You might have to calculate differences rather tan a static number. I'm not sure ADW would have any answers, they are just the retailer. But I would contact AT directly and get their take on how the new strips differ.

I just did a test last night to compare my new strips, (Daphne gave me a low 50 and she isn't down that far these days.), so I compared my new strips in my Relion, to my Bayer Contour and the Relion was 70 and the Bayer was 80, so I guess my strips are fine. The Relion always is lower then my Bayer.

Good luck with your investigation. Hope the walk was fun, I also love to meet the neighborhood dogs.

Hi Ann & Tess, yes you're right as Abbott is the one I should be calling. I did call ADW, and they were interested in my comments on the new strips using the =old meter. They offered me a good discount on the new meter, hoping to keep me as a Customer. :-D I spend quite a bit of money on strips. I wasn't expecting it. I'll try Abbott on Monday.

Hi Barb and Daphne, oh yes, your strips are fine. Thanks for visiting us. We are having our June gloom weather where it has stayed cloudy all day. I even have the heat on, but I'm always cold.

Ann, they should be sending you a new meter with all the strips you have bought. Now that would be good customer service!

I love the Vyktor/Maggie romance. How sweet, although Simon is very jeolous. He thinks Maggie is extremely cute!

Hi Ann.....wow..that is something about the old meter and new strips. 50 mg/dl difference :o ...at higher numbers of course and that is not quite within meter variance but it's certainly an interesting observation.

I get the Ledu m 30C at Sunflower Market in Tucson but Whole Foods should have it as well as any health store. I just dissolve 1 little pill in an ounce dropper bottle and let it dissolve. Then I put one drop a day in my hands and lightly rub it on her ears. It does have sugar which is why I don't give it orally but the vet and the local homeopathy pharmacy owner said that the amount of sugar even for a FD is negligible. Even so....why risk it if she can absorb the essence through her ER tissue?

I also use Neosporin but this is supposed to also help healing.

Hi Marje, yes kind of frustrating right now with the new strips and unsure of Maggie's numbers, but we'll get it solved sooner or later. Thanks on the info for the Ledu m 30C. I'm all for homeopathy, and we have a few neat markets here. I just discovered a new one called Picasso Naturals, also is a restaurant.

Wow, if it's not the syringes, it's the strips, or the meter. I think you should ask Abbott to send you a free exemplar of the new meter. They did state that the new strips would work in the old meter, didn't they? So if there is so much of a discrepancy, they should rectify the situation. Is there a reason why you don't just switch to your Relion? Since you know where it reads in relation to the old AT meter and strips, you could just switch now and not have to make calculations with regard to what Maggie's numbers would have been with th.e old strips when using the new strips.

Yikes on the strips....yep, if it's not one thing, it's another! My head is spinning just reading Mags condo today...I hope you're able to figure this one out soon, but Maggie sounds like she's the same happy sweet girl she always is, no matter what!!
