I was told that today was a good day to bring up the question of vacation dosing for Mr. Faraday. I have a work trip coming up from Sat PM-Fri AM, so nearly a whole week. During this time, Faraday will not have his BG tested, just his insulin shot given.

It seems like 1.25U did okay for Faraday. From the data I have from our trial drop down to 1.25U, it doesn't look like his BG#s got down below the 60s, and importantly, they didn't get too high (it looks like his PM nadirs trended up to the 90s toward the end of our trial, but we didn't go back up in the yellows or anything). Is this potentially a good dose or do I need to be more conservative than this?

1.25U looks like a good dose. You could start that tonight or tomorrow morning so that you have a good idea of how he fares on it by Saturday.

1.25 started tonight. I’m really hoping this trip doesn’t set Faraday back too much, as he’s been starting to see some nice numbers. We also have two long weekends in July that we’ll be out of the BG monitoring game.
