Good Morning, Everyone,

We are home, Rusty's bg is gradually coming down from his stressful trip home(!). We decided not to go on the paddle today: we would have had to have left immediately after AMPS to drive the 2-hours down there, shuttle cars from the start to the finish, paddle 12 miles on the Moose River, and worry about getting home in time for PMPS. Also the weather has deteriorated again and rain is predicted (60% chance). Actually, I'm sorry that we didn't go, but Edward really didn't want to. So here we are!!

Rusty had his face glued to the mud-room door this morning, so we let him out and Shadow (who lives across the street) appeared 2 seconds later! They faced off. Rusty growled softly. Shadow backed off but then came right back. Rusty chased him across the grass. Shadow came back. They sat and faced each other. Then Shadow frisked off and Rusty came back inside. The little kitty really wants to be Rusty's pal. We are watching this situation develop.

Back later. Everyone have a good Monday,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139

Good morning Ella & Rusty! Nice numbers today for Rusty after your trip!

Rusty has to protect his property but it sounds like Shadow just wants to play. I love to watch cats interact with eachother. It is so interesting to see what they do.

Hope you have a great day!

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139

Sorry the paddle didn't work out. Not too bad an AMPS for Rusty with the stress of the trip. It sure sounds like a friendship is developing with Rusty and Shadow, how cute! Have a nice day.

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139

Morning!! Nice to see Rusty recovering from his trip. I bet he is back to Rusty numbers in no time. Too fun with him and Shadow. Shadow sure does want to be his best bud, doesn't he - very persistent. Perhaps Rusty is just stating "my yard, my rules". It should be interesting to see how this develops. Perhaps a playmate for Rusty. :-D

Well bummer on the paddle. It sounds like it would have been a good one, though time may have been an issue. It hate having to rush things - happens to me too when I go hike - always watching the clock, worrying about making it back in time.

Have a good one today - hooping here that your weather improves! It is drizzly and wet here today.

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139

Hi guys .. sorry to hear you did not get to go on your paddle trip .. I hope that rusty and shadow can become friends .. and that rusty brings himself down a little later .. have a great day guys!

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139

aww poor Shadow, chased off by Rusty. I hope they can become friends soon.

Sorry about the weather and your plans. Hope you have a great day anyway.

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139

Sorry you missed out on the paddle, but Rusty's AMPS isn't bad after the stress of the trip.

Rusty, I'm glad you are feeling better. Camp Stu is so great but the trip in a car is a little, uh well, …. not the best for the old tum tum. See you at the full moon planning part meeting. -- Tess

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139, +5.5 95

Hi again,
No rain yet here (but the paddle was in a different part of the Adirondacks; I hope our friends have no rain there).

Rusty is GREEN (barely, but green nonetheless). He had a nice brushing by DH. He went outside again briefly before lunch, but Shadow was gone, so he came back inside.

We bought a dehumidifier for the cellar and started it up today. Now that there is so much less standing water, I can control the puddles better. I am really glad that I was able partially to stop the major leak with hydraulic cement last week. The cellar is 90% improved. Now we just want the water table to drop!!

Back later, chores to do,

Ella & Rusty (who has napping to do)

Re: 6/13 Rusty AMPS 139, +5.5 95, +10 111

Rusty and the Shadow just had a "play" (read "chase). And a "sit". Shadow's beans (dad and his son, age about 8) were out so we chatted. He was born last Nov., so he is still a kitten. He is a really nice little guy.

Hey Rusty, it's nice to have a friend. You're gonna like Shadow, when you get to know him.

Ella, I'm so glad you got at least part of the celler problem fixed. I hope you can get it more dried out before the rains come again.
We usually get a drought in July. I don't know how they do it in the mountains.

Hurray on the improved cellar!!! Rusty had a really lovely curve today!

I hope you get out for a paddle soon. It really sounds like fun, which I'm sure makes it an easy way to stay in shape!!

Sorry you missed out on your paddle, Ella... but hopefully the rain will hold off! We just had levees break north of us... hoping that secondary levees will protect the small town in the water's path. Good luck with the dehumidifier!

Rusty where are you? We always chill at the lagoon at night! You can bring your new friend, does he like parties? Can he come to the Red Moon party? I think he may be lonely. -- Tess

Hi Ella,
Too bad about the paddle trip. I love the "face off" story. Rusty is just making sure Shadow knows who's who. I hope it works out for them! I'm glad the basement is better. You've been at it for quite awhile! We are facing a possible flood of catastrophic proportions. They've released a ton of water from an upstream dam, and it is expected to breech our levee system in the coming days. Everyone is real nervous. DH's son is in a bad area and we may have to take their two African Grays and a cockatiel, if they have to evacuate. I'm really not a bird person, but they need help, so...FLOODING SUCKS!

Rusty, I hear there's gonna be another party--I'm ready! Maybe we could sing Show Tunes! Tessie Lou
