Happy Caturday! Nova is her bouncy self, and I have to get over it.:joyful:

Funny...I feel like I am reverting back to my super-green-newbie anxiety-ridden self. Now, instead of worrying about her being too high and raising doses, I worry about her getting too low and whether or not a reducie will hold! Oh, how this disease affects us humans too!

OT: we made reservations at a campground very close to home next month to go test how Nova does for a couple nights in the camper, as well as fish and bike. Good bird watching too! We will probably do a test run or two in our driveway beforehand. I will be trying out my grandkitties harness on Nova as well. We'll see if she turns into a fainting goat or not. :joyful:

Prayers out to sweet kitty's who are not well, as well as the Beans who care for them.:bighug:

Happy Caturday!
Nova is a fairly predictable bouncer! It's the body's defense mechanism - the liver dumps out stored glucose to get out of those uncomfortable lows. What if you fed her at +3 or +4 for example, then she wouldn't be as low by +5 or 6? Just a hopeful thought!

Fainting goat sure gave me a laugh!! I sure hope you can prepare Nova for a fun camping trip. Your plans sound smart. Cats on a harness can be hilarious. Instead of walking a cat, it's often a wander about, I haven't yet "walked" a cat very far. Once I harnessed Tina, just to see what would happen. All was ok, until I took her next to the pool and she started jumping up in the air, frantically disturbed, almost flipping herself right in the water. Big mistake . . . but she usually likes water:cat:

I think the food thing is a good idea, BUT, my DH would have to do it while I'm at work, and he nearly horks when he smells it. :p And he is not totally on board with the whole treatment thing....thinks I'm only prolonging the inevitable, soo an auto feeder may be on the horizon---maybe two...DS is not on board with not feeding kibble, so that may be a bust too. Although, I don't feed him kibble at lunch and midnight, so.... what he don't know......:woot: I will experiment this weekend with the food times.

The harness is not really meant for walking, just to keep her nearby while lounging at the site. Also looking into a small to med size wire dog crate to be safe.

Have a great day!

p.s. I think Nova likes the bounces because I don't poke her as often. :cat:

That's not a bad bounce and she's already coming back down. I hope Nova is okay with the harness. I tried one on Furball once and she just laid down. I picked her up and took her outside and she was fine with it and moved around snooping.

I really liked the kitty holster for Neko. Super easy to get on and off, and it acted a bit like Thunder Shirt to keep her calm and no way she was wriggling out of it like I've had cats do in other harness styles. It's what I used when I took her on a plane followed by car ride to Colorado. Did you ever read the document on camping with a diabetic kitty?

I have read that document....lots of good info! DH is hesitant, but on board so far. I will look into that harness. I've seen so many online. It's nice to have a referall. Thanks! We put grand kitty's harness on the Noves today, and she didn't roll over or go all fainting goat on us, so that's a good sign. Lot's of time to prepare.

Hoping the new food schedule keeps the super drops from happening and gets her a bit more used to staying in the low blues & greens. :)
