We're finally back on our 6:30/6:30 schedule after my 45 minute late shoot a couple days ago, which is nice so Champ doesn't have to wait for his breakfast in the morning!! I used up the last of the salmon dust yesterday to sprinkle on his food, but had some chicken dust left for this morning and that worked just fine. I went to PetCo instead of the usual PetSmart to get some dried salmon this afternoon (had to go to another store in the same shopping center) and they didn't have the dang salmon. I had to get home to get started on my work so I just bought a large bag of the PureBites chicken...and it was on sale so that was a bonus!!
When I got home, I decided to give Champ a little bit of some new food I bought, Wellness Chicken & Beef. I wanted to see if he liked it and it would give me an easy opportunity to check his BG since I had only gotten a PS and a +3 today. So here it is at +8 and the meter reads 65!!
I just about freaked out. All I could think of was how low had he gotten without me realizing it just because I didn't take the time to test him. I decided I better check it again and the meter said 80! That's a big difference so I checked it a third time and got an 81. This is a lesson to me to make sure I test at least every three hours when his numbers are high...because he likes to high dive!!!
Champ has decided that the cubes are the place to be lately. He's been snoozing in them all the time, takes his baths in there, and just lies around surveying his kingdom from the portholes!!! He's been such a good boy lately. I bought him some mini tennis balls that are supposed to have "nuclear strength catnip" in them. Champ ignored them. He's definitely not a cat into the nip. Maybe next time I want to give him a treat, I'll buy him a new pair of flip-flops.
Well, last night didn't go as planned. The DD got a last minute call from a friend to go for an interview at a pub where she works, interviewing for a hostess position. She already has two jobs, but they're both retail and she would love to get rid of one of the retail positions to mix it up a little. The interview was at 8 p.m. so that kind of took care of any plans we had for pizza and a movie since we were outside until 7 washing cars and trimming shrubs. Oh well, there will be other evenings.
