Good Morning LL! Sti kus pinkus day yesterday, although it started out promisingly. Starting out in yellow, but we will see. Got a fresh batch of raw made yesterday, so Tess will be back to her regular diet. I hope that will help. :? But not too much.

Tonight is the night we have to go to Santa Barbara. If Tess is high we can shoot another half hour early, but do a BCS. We should be back between +5 and +6 and that is her normal onset time. If she is down, we will skip.

Things will be really busy again today, I've got to have lunch w/ DM too, so I apologize if I don't get to many condos today.

WCR Just 4 Ps so far, not quite Clean Plate Club (you don't like my cooking, Tess?) Cool morning, the June Gloom has arrived!

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282

June Gloom - such an apt description! yesterday was spectacular here - today is gray and drizzly. fortunately yesterday was so nice it will carry us through til the next sunny day.

here's a youtube video on the basics of making the coiled fabric kitter bed. i'm a little more precise than this woman, wrapping the fabric tightly and sewing it tightly because i wanted it to maintain its shape. i think i used a 100ft roll of clothesline (polypropolene, i think 1/2" from home depot) and probably a couple of yards of fabric. if you actually want to make one, let me know and i'll give you some of the little things i've learned that make them turn out better. i've gotten a bit hooked on making these as bowls and have made about a dozen now. i think the woman in the video is kinda sloppy, but you can get the gist of it from her.

ok tess, enough of those creepy numbers! time to come back down!

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282

The June gloom MIGHT be better than the June oven we are entering here  Oh, for a trip to CA or Oregon. Have a great day and enjoy SB.

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282

Hi Ann. ......June gloom, huh? Boy, we've had a lot of that, here in my area lately. But then, I complain about the heat too.
Some nice pretty blue from Miss Tess, would be good today, with all you have to do.

Lunch with DM sounds nice. :-D
Have a wonderful day and evening. :-D

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282

Hi guys .. let's hope tess settles back down nicely into some blues and greens for you .. no more stinkus pinkus tess! We are also in the june oven .. and I can't find the off switch! Have a great day!

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282 +3~311

Just preonset rise I hope. Not too bad gor Tess for a +3, her Lev onset is usually later.

thanks for the video Julie! I don't think my lightweight little sewing machine could handle that. I used to make more traditional coiled baskets though, and I could combine the techniques. Tess would like a nice cushy basket like that! :-D

Unfortunately our June Gloom is just overcast w/ no rain. Usually we don't get rain between Mar/Apr and starting again in Oct/Nov. :YMSIGH: Last year The Gloom lasted through August, barely into the 70s all summer. Be careful what you wish for! ;-) they do a great business around here selling sweatshirts to visitors who come looking for the "California Sun" at the beaches.

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282 +3~311

Hi Ann, June gloom here, too, but looks like the sun is trying to make an appearance. Good luck and have a nice time in Santa Barbara. Kitties will make sure and take care of and keep Tess busy.
Anne, beautiful basket.

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282 +3~311 +6~240

It's unanimous! June gloom here too. with a little drizzle. It is not uncommon to see and or all of us decked out in sweatshirts and jackets when we roam the beaches... dang - still gets chilly there, even in the summer, if we get one.

For once Tess and Mannie seem to be on the same end of that teeter totter... wow, and amazing. I hope she surfs well for you - so you won't have to worry while you are gone. Have a good and safe trip.

Tess is really pussy footing around today. Come on down sweet girl. Hope your trip goes well and you have a nice night!

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282 PMPS~204

Tess and Zener are showing us some BLECH numbers, what's up with that? Ooooo, PMPS is almost blue. Go Tess go!

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282 PMPS~204

nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile we decided to shoot even though she is almost blue and dropping. We will be back by +4 or +5 and her onset is just about then, so she shouldn't go too low. I was afraid that she would be right in the middle of our options. ohmygod_smile

I'll talk fast tonight!

Re: 6/12 Tess AMPS~282 PMPS~204

ann, i have a 1961 Singer Slant-o-Matic (oh i love saying that! ) and i'm guessing if it can make these, unless you have a straight-stitch only Featherweight, yours could too. all you need is zig-zag.
