Happy Caturday LL!!!!!

We started out this morning with a test. It was so cute to see that Max still has not forgotten
the routine, even though we are down to weekly testing. He heard the microwave warming up his sock and off he went to his chair.

AMBG 72. Very proud of him. :-D

So this morning I took Max over to the vet to get a wellness profile done. Kind of giving that all clear after all his issues and 2 months off insulin. I wanted to have full blood work done
(oops I forgot the peepee and now he does not pee on demand) so I will bring that back to them.

Max has lost a little bit of weight, now at 19.1lbs. I have cut out the middle of the night feedings and so far that has been going well. I did it gradually as there used to be 2.

Everyting seems to look fine. Very hard to feel organs in a 19lb cat and his teeth are not bad. She hasked f I would consider brushing them. With all his past issues she is not rushing to do a dental and if all is doing fine then we will revisit in 6 months.

So here is the jawdropper news (no he isn't pregnant)

The vet I saw was not my "regular" vet. Yes at the same hospital but she is the wife of my old vet I used with my Sasha(GA). I just really wanted bloodwork done so I did not mind going to her.
Well, she is a HUGE believer of this site, homtesting, high protein low carb FF. She thought the other doctors were crazy for telling me to stop testing. She said that as long as I was watching him, following FDMB and Tilly, there was no reason to have discouraged me.
I told her that a few times he had hit the 30's and she did not even flinch because I told her I was monitoring im.
She appears to be very up to speed with FD and even acknowledged that acro is not even so uncommon anymore. I told her that if she as some FD kitties that need any help to please call me.
Can you beleive she was right under my nose after going to 4 vets. Oh well.
The end result is what counts.
I should have results back on Monday.

Max is looking forward to the new moon party and will be picking up Logan as usual. He does not want to disappoint Raja. :-D

Just want to say to everyone that Max and I are watching the condos every day and try and help where we can.
Big hugs and big thanks to all of our friends here. Our life has changed forever knowing all of you.

Well, thank goodness Max isn't pregnant! That would have rocked the LL world for years to come if you received that dx.

What a great report and a great find in the vet who has literally been there the whole time!

Six is looking forward to catching up with his buddy tonight!

Yay for Max! I think this new vet is awesome! So nice to hear about a vet that knows about this site and the Protocol... even if it's too late to be of any help with Max. You did a great job with him in spite of those other vets, Max is OTJ and doing great and that is what counts. Now you also know of a great vet in your area so if new folks show up here in your area you can send them to her

Aw awesome report Randi!

Good news all around, you've done wonderful with Max and you have him happy and healthy, luckily not preggers!

:RAHCAT :RAHCAT :RAHCAT Happy 2 Months OTJ!!! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT :RAHCAT

Hey Max! I hear you have a great new vet and that you've lost weight and that you had a really good number this morning. Way to go, buddy! Can't wait to see you at the party this evening. Want to help in the kitchen? We're making pizzas and catfish. See ya later.

Wonderful!!!!
What a good report and... I'm also glad Max isn't pregnant!!!
Glad you found a vet up to speed on FD and that even knows about this site... flip_cat

Like Helene, I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I saw he was in fact not pregnant.

What an amazing story, I am so glad you reconnected with this vet, and I hope she will continue to amaze you with the things she knows :)

Scritches to Max!

It's always great to see you Randi, and to get a negative pregnancy report on Max. I'm happy he is still doing so well. I'm sure his blood tests will come back looking good!

whew, I know the pregnancy thing HAD to be on your mind, otherwise it wouldn't have come out so easily. What a relief! I bet they were impressed by how well Max is doing.

I'd make a pregnancy comment but everyone else has been there, done that!

It is more than a little ironic that the vet of your dreams was there all along. I would have wanted to beat a few of the others in that practice senseless, though, after what you went through. I'm glad to hear Max is doing well.

Hey!! I hope Moonie isnt pregnant!! Max have you been seeing her on the sly??
HAPPY 2 MONTHS MAX!!
We both miss you sooooo much, but are glad to hear you are well & Happy---Big Annifursary Hugs!! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Great report for a svelte and great MAX! Yay! Doing GREAT!!
isn't it ironic that you meet this vet NOW... I mean REALLY!
Life is soooo weird sometimes, isn't it?
Happy Two Months Max...and thank you Gayle for all the support you constantly give here...
you are wonderful to come back and add your cheerfulness to everyone's condos here... :YMHUG:

darn............ here i thought we were going to have another "first" in LL.
happy to hear everything is going so well. happy 2 month OTJ annifursary!

Gee I did not realize that pregnancy comment would really stir up that many laughs.

But Max was a real special case here in LL so him doing the unexpected would not be
so surprising right?? :-D

I guess what really did surprise me was that vet #1 never told me that this one really knew her stuff. They are one of the top hospitals here.

Very ironic Sienne. I totally agree. I just could not believe she understood everything that I said. When everyone told me you cannot or need to regulate a cat she said you know, sometimes when you make certain changes the FD can go away.
Very supportive. But you know what? If I had an amazing vet at the beginning, Max and I might not have been living in LL.
I am glad for the road we travelled on to get where we are now.

Im soooo glad Max is (not pregnant) doing well! He deserves it! And you deserve to see him healthy and enjoy your time with him.

I hope everything comes back a-okay!

Thanks for sticking around, even when you dont have to!
