Long post on vet visit.
So saw another vet for consultation/2nd opinion. She comes in room and talks with Olive for awhile and pets her and Olive just starts purring up a storm. Then we start with the tests and stuff. So she holds up the latest labs and says "she has Acromegaly and pancreatitis, though the pancreatitis is down from previous labs. Was a IAA done?" There is no urinalysis and I didn't find a BP. I'm like YES !!!!!!! So we talk, she admits she has never treated and acro, not familiar with it. Give her 5-7 days to get up to speed on it. We talked about the dental consult we have next week. She would prefer I go to a university Cornell or Phili as there she would have an anesthesiologist, cardiologist, possible endocrinologist all monitoring her so dentist can just concentrate on the teeth. She doesn't see much wrong with them, some redness and mild gingivitis (Olive hissed at her when looking at teeth) but get them done before she gets older and or sicker and it's to late where no one will take her on. Another YES from me. She also understands how going to university could be an issue and said to keep my appt here, listen to what he says, find out if at least a licensed/certified anesthesiologist who will monitor. As there is no rush. She likes the meter readings (ss) but doesn't care for human meter. But said they could work around it. Having fluctuations is normal just like a human. It depends on how you feel, if your dreaming, or just eating a bug could make a difference. Would like to see less pink and reds, and less neon green. She said to many feedings throughout the day. Explained why the +2 n +3 and showed her the fast drops, then she was okay with that. She is the first person to take BP which was 140. Their machine is rather old though. Doesn't mind if I get meds elsewhere, they will write script. Would want to see her every 3-4 months for well check. She thought Olive was doing well overall and I should keep doing what we're doing.
