Trix's appy really seems to be benefiting from the assist feeding. When I first started, I was doing 3 syringes morning/3 evening. I was quickly able to reduce that to 2 morning/2 evening. Last night, she was eating so well on her own that I was able to skip the second syringe
! With that said, today her appy is a little slower, but she did actually jump down from her "testing station" (the ottoman) and looked very expectantly at me as I brought her food dish to her. Since the p-titis, she usually lounges on the ottoman after her test and that's where I feed her. She ate some of it with the dish on the floor, along with the rest of the crew.
Of course, these days "on her own" still means MamaBean has to present the plate most of the time, but now she does eat most of it without me actually coaxing her and re-piling the food for her.
So, kitten steps.
I would love for her to eat more "on her own" on mornings that I have to work, like today, since I don't have that much time. But, since she's being a little slow this morning, I will definitely get another syringe into her before I leave.
...I am really sleepy today but have to get moving soon...I have two back-to-back classes to teach. That also means I'm not going to be able to come home for an early afternoon snack. She'll be fine...I just like to cram as many calories into as I can. But, I'm off tomorrow, so there will be plenty of time to play "catch up" then!
Sending healing vines out to J.D. and Melissa's drooler Charlie this morning. Be well, boys!!
