Morning. ~O) This morning we are at 101ambg

It's been 222 days today since Shadow went otj. (even if she has had me walking the plank a bit here and there)
Thanks for all the comforting words where Shadow threw me her lowest number. It scares me for her to be outside of her own normal.
And she went right back to her normal so I'm mostly good for now.

Now if I could just figure out what's going on with her.
She has her new stairs by the bed and she does come get her food in the night on my nightstand so she has used them.
She just won't come to bed.... she eats and goes back to the bath mat.

This is why I think something just isn't right with her.
She might not come to bed when we go to bed. But for all of her life, pre-diabetes, she at least comes and lays down with me
some time before morning.
This was what made me suspicious and led to the FD dx.
And she was back to her routine after she went otj. It's these last couple of months that she's back to avoiding the bed.
She's not playing much either.
Summer routine is usually a lot of laying around but I know something just isn't right.
I just hope I can figure it out.

Miss grumpy doesn't want her picture taken. I always get attitude in her eyes. Like "really?"

OT: the fire is still going but 40% contained.
It's about 18 miles away as the crow flies. You can move the map to see where Los Alamos is. Thanksfully the winds haven't been crazy.

Wow...222 days already - awesome! Cute pics...she's looking very sophisticated with her "serious" expression :-D ! Fingers crossed she's just in a "different" phase. I totally understand how sensitive you are to her nuances and can sense when something is different, no matter how subtle...I go through it with my little herd, too. Try not to worry (I know, easier said than done!) - just enjoy Shadow and OTJ!
 
Hey, wait a minute! There seems to be a dearth of toys for Shadow to play with in those pictures. I only see 4 toys in the picture.

Hope the fire gets better contained soon.

And you figure out why Shadow "just doesn't look right"
 
Hi Rhiannon. Congrats to Shadow & you for 222 days OTJ! I hope Shadow is just bothered by the warmer weather and there isn't anything else wrong. We'll keep you & Shadow in our Prayers. Glad to here they are getting the fire under control and that the winds died down.

Great pictures! I agree with Deb, poor Shadow is toy deprived. :lol: :lol: :lol: I hope she gets back to normal.

Ugh, smoke from a fire is horrible. 40% is good but there's still a long way to go. Paws crossed the winds don't get bad. It seems to me that forest first are more about the wind than the dryness because it's always dry, especially this time of year. I agree that 7000' is about perfect, as long as you like snow. :-D :-D

Congratulations on Shaddow's OTJ. I think all animals have off days, we just don't always know their BG because
animals aren't tested on a daily basis like we test our sugar kitties. I can't say stop worrying because it's just about
impossible for me to accomplish so how can I expect someone else to be able to do it.
:smile: All I can say is that I'm right there with you, I'm a worrier myself. Shaddow is a beautiful.
You know Shaddow like no other, take a deep breath and slowly let it out.
Hang in there, stay strong and diligent.
Hoping everything will be fine.
 
Congratulations to you and Shadow on 222 days otj! I love the pics; she has the cutest face! :-D I hope this is just a phase with her sleeping habits, but I can understand the slightest change in our kitties makes us wonder. Vines and prayers the fire doesn't get close to you guys.
 
Congratulations on 222 days OTJ! Woo hoo! I hope you can figure out what is going on with Shadow and it's nothing serious. I know how frustrating it is to know they seem a little off but not be sure why. Hopefully they get the fire 100% contained soon.
 
That is awesome,maybe she's just having one of those days,pictures are so cute she looks like my moms cat mitty,that cat and me didn't get along she was mean.after my mom died I had to take her she hated my brother too,so I took her and Happy, well mitty became a under the sink cat after she peed and poop on my brand new bed,she was 20 years old I finally had to put her down and the shelter said horrible things to me, I told them then you keep her.sometimes she would come out of her hole an attack me. MOL Well hang in there with the fires so glad I live somewhere with rain and no Santa Anna winds in Calif or Reno anymore. :smile:

Maybe the smoke from the fires is bothering her? Is she eating normally? Maybe it's just the warmer weather.

She's such a pretty kitty. I hope she acts more like her normal self soon. It's worrisome when our kitties exhibit new/strange behaviors.

I know exactly how you feel about Shadow not coming to bed with you.
I hope you can figure it out soon, or Shadow will be back to her routine soon...
Lucy does that sometimes to me too.
She usually sleeps right next to me, but sometimes would not even come to the bedroom, more often these days, but I just let her be as long as she is happy otherwise....
 
Pre-divorce Tiki NEVER slept with us. Post-divorce he sleeps with me every night. Perhaps there's a man in your bed annoying her??? New cologne? Fabric softener?Detergent? Soap? Maybe she senses your stress and avoids it, only perpetuating the cycle? Hide treats in your sheets, she might surprise you! :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
Oh my - hide treats in the sheets? I'd be afraid my toe might be mistaken for a piece of chicken . . .

Beautiful Shadow has a self-satisfied look in her eyes: "My plan to keep her guessing and make me the center of her universe is working!" :lol:
 
Hi Rhiannon - wow, has it really been 222 days? It just seems like yesterday. Very nice! I hope that the change in routine is just her doing things differently. Mannie had a habit of doing that too... every six months or so he'd just do everything a little different. I know it is worrisome when they don't do old habits, or start new ones. I did too.

Hoe your day was a good one.
