Expected bounce, dose reduced from 1.25 to 1 :D

The dose is coming down but the kitty is not smiling. More vomit sometime between 3 & 6am & little appetite but drinking. Did have some meaty bone broth & will work to get her to eat.

Toxoplasmosis popped into my head this morning. Waiting to hear results from my daughter's cat's toxoplasmosis test (she moved home in Dec), then will either treat both cats &/or will ask about a SNAP test for pancreatitis (SNAP was not done last fall when pancreatitis was suspected)

It never hurts to get a diagnosis. I hope Maus feels better soon :bighug:.

Ondansetron has kicked in & she ate leftovers from breakfast.

Spent the morning reading & came across some interesting studies on toxoplasmosis & it seems unlikely. More likely IBD/pancreatitis combo plate. Will give more bone broth with small portions of meat & hopefully things will settle back down.

fwiw, bone broth is super easy to make in the Instant Pot. I use only bones, skin & a Tbs of vinegar for pets, cook low pressure 3 hrs

carla and Cali like. BTW, what Does tbs vinegar do? [to neutralize acid?]

the vinegar helps to draw the minerals out of the bones; they come out fairly crumbly and the cartilage is dissolved. I use as little water as possible & when it's done, I carefully pick out the bone & skin, then crumble the bits of meat. When refrigerated, it's like meat jello o_O. I freeze in muffin tins then pack in freezer bags to thaw as needed. Makes really good chicken soup too :p

I love this.
What exactly is "vinegar for pets"? I'm intrigued...

Getting through the expected bounce, eating a bit better, likes the bone broth mixed in with her raw. Will give another dose of ondansetron before I turn in for the night since she tends to barf pre-dawn
