5-8 Leroy +18 64 AMPS 103 PMPS 149

I’m guessing the vet visit wears him out. So glad he will get the bandage off next week 🥰

Does he get more active in the days after return from the vet?
The vet doesn’t have any suggestions on the creatinine? Fluids? Binder?

Sorry no advice on the IO group. Have you posted again?

Are there any other CKD groups you could join?

Maybe post with a question in your field or a separate post in main health??
I assume you’ve read Tanya’s site for suggestions?

Sending hugs to you guys ❤️‍🩹🌊🏄‍♂️🐈😻🍀🍀🍀🍀

He already gets daily fluids but that's not helping. The Porus One supplement hasn't made any difference. I don't know if the vet has given up on Leroy or what but he says I'm doing everything I can for Leroy and then some. Leroy doesn't get too much more active after a vet stay. It's mostly lie around napping and clomping to the litter box or water bowl or feeder.

Someone on IO said a binder wasn't needed because phosphorus wasn't high🤷‍♀️

I'm sorry that he's feeling so down after the ver visits. My cat Sigma has the same behaviour when she has to visit the vet too often, sometimes she gets really bad and constant breathing issues and I have to take her often and she kinda becomes depressed after that for a period of time, not wanting to do anything other than sleep, maybe Leroy is feeling the weight of so many visits and his bandage persisting as well, maybe his reduced mobiity due to the bandage is also wearing him down. I'm pretty sure you're doing all you can to lift his spirits, but sometimes all they need is ectra care and attention, extra cuddles and love until they begin to feel a little bit happier. Remember how us humans become when we feel sick, all we want is to lie down and for someone to care for us a little bit.

Hopefully things will start to look up after the bandage is off.
I know how awful the feeling of your primary vet having given up is, specially when you are doing everything and you would do even more. Is it too hard and complex to find a second vet's opinion? I find that with vets and human doctor's in general, diagnosis and treatments of behaviors seem to vary a lot depending on wether you find someone who truly takes interest in a specific issue or not.

sending leroy and you tons of strength! 🍀

I don't think the vet has given up. It's more that Leroy is complicated and there's nothing else to do but try to help the kidneys with fluids and managing the other health issues. At this point, Leroy has been seen by many of the vets at the hospital across multiple specialties and has probably been used as a case study for the residents and interns.
