5/8 Brownie Old-timer PMPS 150

Brownie's doing OK - he's looking pretty feeble lately, but still seems to enjoy the garden (especially eating the grass weeds that have popped up lately!) and snuggling with us at night. I'm still giving him 150cc squids every 3 days and he doesn't seem as dehydrated anymore. He's changed his eating schedule (he usually eats BEFORE I test him now - uggh!) and that has contributed to his numbers being higher. He also had a UTI about 3 weeks ago, but after 2 weeks of Orbax, it has cleared. We just keep "taping and gluing" him back together at the vet and we'll keep doing it as long as his quality of life is still pretty good. He's also on a baby aspirin every 3 days now, but it hasn't seemed to help his arthritis too much (he's already on cosequin and the vet doesn't want to give him anything else due to his kidneys and age...). Glad to hear he's still enjoying the garden and snuggles.

Have you thought about fish oils or SAMe (no experience with that, but others have mentioned it), or is that not an option due to kidney issues?

wondering --have you tried dasequin ? I really didn't think there was going to be a noticeable difference making the switch. But Wolfie says different. He moves around much better on that. He has had CRI/CRF for 6 years.
no problems with that or the SAMe that Nina mentioned. he has been on denasyl and or denamarin for other reasons for quite awhile with no problems for kidneys. I think it is meowzi who has her arthritis helped by adding that to the mix.
