Yesterday was one of Neko's flattest days for a while, with lots of blue. So today we bounce. ohmygod_smile

I was very surprised to see this mornings AMPS. She was rising when I went to sleep but must have surfed there all night long. But most importantly, I got 6 hours sleep! :cool: We'll see where Neko goes with this dose today and tonight. I may sneak her back up a bit. After her last low I just shaved it down, but shaved it down again because I desperately needed sleep. I'm perfectly happy with her to maintain a nice low blue surf, but want to try to limit the amount of bouncing into pinksville. Not that the higher dose accomplished that. :roll:

Neko was feeling really good this morning. It's unusual for her to not have her blood sugar bouncing around so the flatness must have contributed to her mood. She went out for about 20 minutes after breakfast, showing more energy than she has for a while. :-D Her coat is just wonderful now, shiny and soft.

Today I'm off to PT in a bit, then Neko goes to vetty for blood draw. It's our 9 month SRT anniversary this week, so we check blood work, especially her thyroid numbers every 3 months this first year after SRT. We'll also get a follow up on the heart murmur found last time to see if there are any changes. Unfortunately Neko's BG's are not going to be great for vetty. KTSS has their work cut our for them today, lots of kitties seeing vets.

I hope everything goes well at the vet with Neko and you get good test results back. I hope the PT is helping your elbow.

wondered if you might visit a condo I put in main health....
what other conditions/symptoms for Acro did Neko show early on?

Just got back from the vet. They were very busy, had a lot of people drop in later than they said they would. Neko had her blood draw and yet again they managed to do it without shaving her fur. They asked if they could shave, I asked them to try not too. Both Neko and I are vain that way. :lol: The vet checked Neko's heart murmur and it's the same as last time, so all good in that department. I'll get b/w results tomorrow afternoon. The vet who is in tomorrow is the locum vet who got us on Lantus and FDMB.

While I was there, I asked if they'd had any cats go into remission. I've been meaning to ask that a while now. And the answer was only cats that were diabetic because of steroids. But they still prescribe Caninsulin. I did tell the vet about Neko's great cycle last night (between 162 and 114 the whole night) and mentioned that was the benefit of Lantus. The vet also mentioned that if Neko is hypoT due to SRT, that would be her first hypoT cat. We have been first in a number of ways (first to home test, first who's goal is remission, first acrocat (now has another), first to go to SRT).

@Carla - Thanks for the good vetty wishes. Heart murmur is good, b/w we'll find out tomorrow. The PT is helping. The tissue work hurts but feels really good when he stops. Almost straight in one direction now.

@Amy - It's kind of a weird anniversary celebration. Glad we had SRT done, not so happy Neko was acro as that was confirmed just 3 weeks before SRT. Oh well, we deal with what we got.

@Rhiannon - KTSS is very busy today. Lots of kitties got poked. Neko's only symptom of acromegaly was diabetes and polyphagia. Extreme hunger is a symptom of diabetes too, so it's hard to say what is due to the growth hormones and what to diabetes. She hadn't lost much weight before dx which in hindsight was probably a symptom. I'll check out that thread.

I am so happy that Neko is doing well and hope that you will get a good report tomorrow. She really is a lucky kitty to have you for her mamabean.

Glad to hear that the elbow is improving. Soon you'll be rowing again.

Yay for no shaved arms! :-D It sounds like Neko is had a good morning ... I hope she is settling down after the vetty. Glad the PT is doing good!

I'm glad there was no shaving involved. A girl has to have her fur in place! Fingers and paws crossed for a good report tomorrow. Will be watching for results.
I'm glad your elbow is improving. I hope it's all healed with no more crunching soft tissue SOON!

HI Wendy - YAY! A good vetty report. :-D :-D :-D I hope the the BW comes back good too. Son;t worry Neko - I hear that the KTSS is on their way... full spa line included. :-D

I agree too - so glad that your elbow is getting better. I bet you really miss rowing. Soon!

Slooowly easing down. Paws crossed she continues that trend tonight.

@Ella - My main worry going to the vet was the heart, as the murmur was new last checkup, but cardio vetty said not to worry as long as there is no change in level or location. So big sigh of relief. Blood test for hypoT has me a bit on edge, but that's easily treatable with meds. I forgot to ask the PT when he thought I could row again, but I see him again on Thursday so will ask then. Gotta get more indoor rowing machine time in first.

@Lisa - They would have shaved her neck, and with long ruff fur that is really noticeable. The vet tech on today is pretty good at doing it without shaving. Neko did settle down and has done a little deck patrol, it's great cat weather outside. :-D

@Mary - Me too on the shaving, I've heard from a vet tech friend that it's just being lazy when they have to shave. I'll post the summary tomorrow when I get it. I've asked them to email me the results again. The soft tissue feels pretty tight, it does feel good to get the blood flowing to it and so far not too painful.

@Ollie - Hurry up, they had droolers there too, the place was S T I N K Y! ~Neko

@Michelle - Oliver says KTSS is on it's way, so should be here soon. They've been hopping today. Neko's looking forward to the massages. The water has been looking especially inviting in this wonderful weather. I gotta stop looking at the web cam.

And the usual night time dive mode is on. Time to haul on the PJ's.

@Marje - Much relieved about the heart murmur. Now I'll worry until I hear about the b/w. Neko has gained a bit of weight, even plusher than Gracie, but that's also a hypo T symptom. nailbite_smile I think the vet knows a lot about FD in dogs and is learning more about FD in cats. :smile:

Yeah I'm looking at Cain's numbers and it's going to be an all nighter if he keeps up this way. PJ party.

Glad to hear the vet visit went well. And that the elbow is healing.
