It's after 4:00PM, we officially are in Day 6 post op. I'm not up for my normal lengthy post, so I'll just say all her numbers are looking good. The PCV has fluctuated between 21% and 25% today, but the first 21% was off because of a diluted sample, and the same may be likely for the last 21% they got. In any case, I am not worried about the anemia anymore and I just need her to heal well over the next 48 hours. The doctor is very pleased with the way her abdominal wound is healing, so we are optimistic the intestinal incision is healing just as well. Now it's just a waiting game. Under most circumstances, she could come home, but the risk of bleeding is too much of a concern for me to mess with. I need her to be watched 24/7 for the next 48 hours. If all goes well, she will be coming home Monday.

I truly believe all of you prayers, healing vines and well wishes have helped her. I know they have helped me.

I didn't edit this video, so it's 4 minutes long. As her Daddy, I think it's all good stuff.

FYI... If it loads slow, change it to 480P, I had to so it loaded faster.

Belle can't be feeling all that bad if she wanted off the table! I've got my fingers crossed that she keeps making this kind of good progress.

I spent my visit running back and forth. You can hear my sneakers squeaking as I run to keep her on the table. :-D She's doing very well, but these next 48 just may too much for me to take!

love the video. and the look, what do you mean NO!! I want off this table. she is looking fantastic. you can tell she is feeling so much better. good work Jason. she will be home soon. healing vines continue. you are a good daddy bean

Oh,,, she will be so happy to be home :-D She is looking good. You are a very good dad, taking such good care of her.

Quick Update:

Her PCV is up to 29%, but she now has a fever of 105. I'm hoping it's the jugular catheter. Since it doesn't look like she will need another transfusion, lets get it out.

Again, one thing resolves and another pops up. This is torture.

She was making me so nervous with her I Want Down Now routine. Nice to see her so alert and active, glad the anemia is improving.

I had to cut my visit short because she wouldn't settle down. Tonight when I visited her, she was a little more subdued, but as soon as I pulled a chair up next to the table she tried to jump in my lap. I lifted her up and laid her in my lap and she slept there for 30 minutes.

And good news, her temp is down to 104. Her j tube got pulled out of place today and they didn't notice until they had already given her some Glucerna. Some of it went where it wasn't supposed to, and they are not surprised by the fever. Not to mention that they had her on hot packs too.

Somehow, I'm not sure who felt better -- Belle because she got to snuggle on your lap or you because she was curled up in your lap.

Belle was definitely happy to be with me, but I think I got the better of it. When she comes home and feels better, she'll never do it again so I have to enjoy it when I can get it. She is not a lap cat.

Belle looks absolutely wonderful - I have no doubt she will make a full recovery. Such good news! It is so good to see her so active after what she has been through. Love how she slept on your lap - so great!

What a great video of Belle. She looks very, very good. Sending healing vines for a complete recovery. You both are doing great.

Last update of the night:

Fever is down to 103, and they said she ate great. I asked them if they gave her wet or dry, and they said they offered her both... and she ate all of both!

I'm so glad for you that her fever is coming down and she's eating. I know you must feel exhausted right now. The roller coaster ride we go through when are babies are ill. I've been there. Saying a prayer that she will continue to improve and will soon be hoe with you where she belongs.
