This morning's AMBG was a bit of a nail-biter, but she brought it all the way back down to green totally on her own, sans juice.
We had a similar start to yesterday....that is, somewhat crappy appy. She DID eat a bit on her own at first (which is a bit of forward progress), but no way no how was she taking ANY of her pill pocketed meds on her own. So, I had to "strongly encourage" the BP meds and cypro. One thing I learned about pill pockets...even if she won't take them on her own, they get nice and sticky when damp from her spit, which makes it easier to get the pill pocketed pill to STAY in her mouth until she takes a couple bites and swallows. I use just enough PP to cover the pills, and fortunately they are all teeny tiny. I didn't try the famotidine pills (she gets 5mg, so two 1/4 tablet pieces) until the cypro kicked in, and once that happened, she did take the pill pocketed pills off the spoon by herself. Dodged another medication bullet for 12 more hours...phew.
Her appy is quite good today...she's had a couple rounds on her own, and a couple rounds with beans nagging her. No doubt the cypro is helping us along, but she is eating.
I also got awesome pre-breffis snuggles. Last night, she ran the snuggle circuit...Zen, then me, then Frankie, then DH, then Noah, then Petey. I think she's trying to make up for lost time! She kept all of her snuggle stops short, but that's actually par for the course, except when she snuggles during the day with Zen....those snuggles usually run into hours.
I can tell she is still not 100%...and yes, part of me wonders if she ever will be 100% again. But, she is definitely still making baby steps, and I am doing my very very best to focus on that rather than the setbacks we have here and there.
I'm off today, so chores are on the list. I am also hoping to start making more condo visits...I just have been so consumed by this along with other stuff in life that it's been a challenge. But I always, always have my LL family in my thoughts and prayers.
Have a great day, LL!
