5/6 Kit cat AMPS 92, +2 81, PMPS 100, +2 88

Kit's been having hairballs, and I asked her vet about it, and she prescribed laxatone. I went with it without thinking about it, because my vet's been pretty dang on top of the whole diabetes thing. So it came today, I gave her a little bit to see how it would go, then an hour later her numbers were over 100 - and then I checked the ingredients. So much glucose! Ugh. Guess I won't be using that anymore. :banghead:

Alicia, maybe this could help. :bighug:

And the following was from Charlotte’s mom, Robin, who's a veterinary doctor:

"Lecithin will help with furball breakdown. They do sell powdered lecithin but I have used a bit of raw egg yolk (about a teaspoon) with one of my kitties who had projectile vomiting from a furball. After two treatments with the egg yolk in her wet food, she was fine. I only use it as needed."

I had purchased some, but after about a week she was still having relatively frequent hairballs. She has to clean herself every time she is touched, plus any other time she feels like it, and she's shedding because spring - so maybe it'll slow down? Maybe trying some raw egg and not the powder would work better?
