Just shot a 4.5 after giving him his Friskies gravy-food. Will check again in a couple of hours.
Bad news from his test yesterday. My vet said the only things she's seen (3 button sized lumps, large/med/small) that looked like that and were in that place (on his right hip) turned out to be fibrosarcoma. We won't know for sure for about 10 days when the results come back from the lab.
I guess this is why they don't do 3 year rabies vaccines any more.
If it is fibrosarcoma she said they typically amputate the leg. If they just try to cut out the area, it tends to grow back. If you don't do anything it will eventually spread but it may take years. Siamese Rescue "headquarters" will make the decision but I sure can't see amputating his leg - he's 13 years old.
So I'm just focusing on those blood glucose readings and helping him have the best life he can right now. He's probably feeling pretty good - we caught him walking around in the house last night and he usually doesn't leave my office.
