Hello LL! I've missed you all and missed a lot of what's been going on this last month, so I'm hoping everyone is doing well. Prayers and healing vines to those that need them. I did see it's Marjorie and Mike's anniversary, so Happy Anniversary to you two!

Today Muffin is 6 months OTJ and she gave me a lovely 53 this morning! I can't believe she's reached this huge milestone and we could not be happier. She is extremely energetic, racing through the house at all hours of the day. She discovered a bag of pounce chicken flavored treats in the pantry...NOT diabetic friendly...but she's been doing so well that I allow her 5 of them a few days a week. She races into the kitchen and up onto the pantry shelf, where I lay out 5 treats. By the time I have put the bag away, they are gone. It does seem to help her carb craving, makes her search out human food somewhat less, and doesn't seem to have a negative effect on her health. One of these days, when I'm faster grabbing the camera, I intend to post a video of her playing with her toys. It fills my heart with joy to watch her.

In other news...Tuesday we acquired kittens from a stray cat up the street. She was moving them from house to house, apparently having trouble keeping them safe, so my DS and his friend gathered them up. I went to look at them, and it was apparent that at least 2 of the 4 had eye infections. So off to the vet I took them. Got meds for the 2 orange ones with eye infections and am now stuck hand raising them all. We are trying to trap the mother so we can keep her with them, but so far no luck. They are about 2 weeks old, ears not even all the way open yet, but other than the eye infections and fleas, they seem healthy. We had a difficult time getting enough food into them, so we are tube feeding for the most part, and then topping that off with what we can get them to take voluntarily. We've already found homes for 3 of them...one of them being our home. DS has fallen head over heals for the runt of the litter and he is determined to keep it.

I remember when Lisa was hand raising her litter...and my hat really goes off to her. It sounded exhausting, but now I know first hand just HOW exhausting it is! Being a momma cat is hard work!

LOL yes very exhausting indeed being a Momma cat love the pics I have always favored orange cats and a very Happy 6 months OTJ to Miss Muffin

hi guys - it is so great to hear from you. I am elated that Muffin continues to do well - 6 months! another fantastic success story. I had to laugh over the reference to the need for human food - I still remember those stories... nice that the treats are proving to be a good substitute.

Wow on the kitten rescue - wonderful of you to care for them. I hope you will be able to catch the mother too. Good luck with it all.

Muffin! How you been????? We miss you!!! ~~ Mannie

Congratulation on 6 months.
