5/5 Moe: AMPS=429;+3=374;+9=379;PMPS=380;+4=407

375 at +3. He ate a few bites of plain cooked chicken just now. Hopefully he will feel better today. I have to go into the office and won’t be back until after 2:00 pm.
 
Came home and found Moe chewing on a plastic bag in my closet. Checked his BG at +9.5 and it’s 379. He came out and ate about a half can of FF pate. He’s usually really hungry at this time of day. Hopefully he’ll continue to improve.
 
Erin is it possible he's having a dental problem or he's missing something in his diet that would cause him to chew on plastic?
How's the flea medication working, have you tried it on Moe or just the others?

He’s always been a plastic eater. Loves to chew plastic shopping bags and my bedroom curtains (lightweight polyester). He doesn’t swallow it, just gnaws at it. He just had a cleaning and five teeth removed three weeks ago, so he better not have a dental problem! His follow up post-dental went well and vet said he was healing well. Maybe the plastic feels good on his teeth and gums? I mentioned it to the vet, she didn’t seem concerned.

All the cats got flea treatments, including Moe. I combed a few off him a couple days ago but haven’t seen anymore yesterday or today.

He came out and ate some more, so it looks like he’s starting to feel better.
 
PMPS 380. Moe came out and participated in the pre-dinner scuffle that happens every night while I prepare bowls for seven cats. He ate really well and is now poking around looking for more. Yay! I was worried about his PM shot if his appetite didn’t improve.
 
With numbers that high, I wouldn't be worried about his shot if he was a little off his food.

Tomorrow is the increase to 5.5, unless he shows you some blues tonight.

I wasn’t sure about DKA; still don’t have a good understanding of that.

At any rate, whatever was bothering him seems to have passed. Moe just came and demanded another serving of dinner, so he’s had about five ounces in the last couple of hours.

I doubt we’ll see any blues tonight. That would be a huge drop and we just haven’t been seeing big moves up or down lately.
