Good Morning LL,

After two weeks today in our new house, I have finally found the "right" spot for Kismet's bed. I've been trying it out in various places to find where he likes it. He really enjoys sitting by the sliding glass doors in the master bedroom that looks out onto the patio and backyard. Our yard is quite the haven for lizards and butterflies, or in kitty terms, endless hours of entertainment. There is also a 6 month old or so black and white kitten who likes to visit our yard. So I tried putting his bed there, and success! He spent most of yesterday lounging in it :-D To date, finding the right spot has been the biggest challenge of moving... not the back breaking labor of moving boxes, painting, cleaning, etc., but finding the spot for the cat bed! :lol: ohmygod_smile

I also think I need to revise my theory about the asthma incident... I don't think the higher numbers are a result of asthma, but maybe the asthma is the result of the higher numbers. There is strong evidence to suggest that elevated BGs can lead to a flare. I think his insulin has gone around the bend. His +2 today will tell. I've left a message for the vetty asking for a script for lantus pens. If I don't hear back by noon tomorrow, I will call again.

Kizzy is feeling just fine! I was in the bathroom doing my morning ablutions when he started knocking and carrying on, so I let him in and he took his morning pee and got a negative glucose/ketones reading :-D All 5 p's, CPC, easy breathing, etc.

Kismet looks so at home in his bed. It sounds like the perfect location too. One's gotta have the right spot! Priority #1 without a doubt. :-D

Hmmm, interesting theory on the asthma/BG relationship. Could very well be. Good luck, sounds like maybe you've found the answer.

Hey Kizzy! You need new juice? maybe huh. Well in the meantime, try out the blue floor. I hear there are cool things there. :-D

ohmygod_smile Well, he is forcing me to revise my opinion once again! Just as soon as I think I've got him figured out...

It appears that the juice is just fine, he just wasn't responding to the fat 0.25. I bumped him up to a skinny 50 this morning to determine if the juice really is bad, and nope! Juice is fine. He just wanted more of it! So glad to see this green! I just hope he doesn't decide to plummet to the 30s again like he did last week :roll:

Liz, thank you! Zener is a handsome boy, too, but I think I have a bias for black kitties. They're truly special <3 And yes, only now can we properly call it a home since the boy finally has the perfect spot for his bed! :mrgreen:

Michelle, so true! Priority number 1 is making the cat happy, or else no one is happy :lol: Looks like he debunked my theory. There is some relationship between his asthma and diabetes, I just have no idea what it is yet. Maybe one day I will crack the Kismet code and they will make a movie starring Tom Hanks :lol:

I'm glad the vial isn't toast ~ only a month, at that price? I'd be crying ~ and starving :lol: .

What a nice visit to the lagoon today! (No plummeting, Kizzy!)

Good luck cracking the Kismet Code and selling the idea to Hollywood ~ I smell a potential spoof... :lol:
Just think of all the insulin you could buy!!! :lol:

Kismet looks so content in his bed. He is such a beautiful kitty. It looks like the new dose is working. I'm glad the insulin is still okay.
 
Hi Josie! Yes, VERY happy the insulin is okay! Who has $160 to throw away every month?! It would be good fun to make a movie about Kismet. These blue PS numbers are so much nicer than all the yellow that has been staining his ss lately. I will just have to keep a very close eye on him. Really don't want a repeat of the 30s and 40s. I finally did get my calipers, but either they're no good or the battery they came with is busted. I've looked around a couple of stores for the battery to no avail. Will have to make a special trip to home depot or something or order it online. Hopefully it's just the battery and not the calipers.
